You can only contribute a small amount right now. Tax hikes next year will make the value of having a roth ira significantly less next year.

Best thing to do is 401k to company match. Then max out Roth IRA. For most people that should get you 10-11k in savings per year.

I disagree. Always better to pay taxes before growth rather than after. If the investment appreciates first contribution should be to a Roth IRA.

Dumbfounding logic
If money is worth nothing, then why not risk it in investments? You either A) Come out ahead. B) Break even C) Lose it all and you're in the same boat as everyone else
