How does if work vs 6 meals yada yada

If people are screaming how iifym works so well..what advantage does Intermittent fasting have over 3 meals, or 6 meals a day if it all comes down to total calories for the day for fat loss?

Meal frequency is separate from Intermittent Fasting (IF), as IF is a timing protocol that limites caloric intake to a window.

Anyway, meal frequency is a function of personal preference, as is restricted feeding windows. Niether have a direct impact on bodyweight or composition.

However, higher meal frequency is often associated with increased appetite and some folks report deducted hunger during periods of fasting. Thus, impact on satiety can indirectly impact outcomes.

I see thanks wonderpug. One more question: Since insulin will be extremely low, and I would be performing fasted training, would this give me or an individual an advantage for becoming leaner?

Yes and no....Body comp wise no....Keeping hunger at bay i feel it has a strong advantage over 6 meals a day or at least in my case. Once i start eating i need a good 1000-2000 cals before i come close to wanting to stop, IF allows me this and keeps me from eating 6-12k a day

Complete opposite for me, smaller more frequent meals keep me from getting hungry where IF'ing I am starving

Net balance of energy over a significant period of time is what determines meaningful deltas in adiposity.
