why are people so opposed of buying fake diamonds for engagement rings

one of these is diamond, one is cubic zirconia. Can you tell them apart? Will some sloot be able to tell them apart when they're in a setting? doubtful unless she found some well-trained gemologist to examine it out of the setting with a loupe.

i lol @ my friends who spend $8k on engagement rings (they make around $30-40k a year). I make 60k+ depending how much I work and I would spend maybe $1k on a ring. All on the setting.


my brother dgaf - got his wife an aquamarine. obviously not a diamond, but tarded bishes still ask my sister in law if it was diamond.

not getting married anytime soon but just sayin'

Why even buy a ring? The tradition of a diamond ring is because it lasts forever. Zirconium doesn't last forever so cough up or don't even bother. srs. Don't half-ass anything in life son

Wedding and engagement rings are stupid. It's an infantile pissing match, which is why having a fake diamond is not acceptable if you are going to participate in the culture of wedding rings.

It's unfortunate that it's socially acceptable for woman to be brain washed by needless consumerism and entitlement when it comes to weddings.

If you use something fake, such as a CZ to symbolise the love between you and your partner, what does that say about the relationship?

The whole "you should spend loads of money" on a diamond engagement ring thing is a load of BS and actually a creation of the De Beers diamond corporation, they invented the phrase "diamonds are forever" as a marketing slogan and only mine/refine a certain quantity of diamonds a year in order to make them appear more rare and valuable to drive prices up. Srs look it up.
