So how hard is Calculus 2?

Thinking about taking it next term although it is not required for my degree. Is it really as hard as everyone makes it out to be?
One of the reasons why I want to take it is because I didn't do particularly well in calculus 1(low 80ish) and I wanna prove myself
that I can do well on this **** with enough practice. Should I pepper my angus?

Engineering brah checking in with a strong 100% in calc 1, A for 2 and 3. Calc 2 was the hardest from what I can remember. Look up taylor series and mclauren series. My teacher made us memorize so much too.

I ended up doing it after finishing my undergrad degree in economics/business. I did it at a community college and it was harder than anything I'd done at my 4 year university. I needed it as a pre-req for econ/finance graduate school.

It was pretty hard and frustrating and I didn't end up using basically anything from it. There was a whole section in our book on applications to economics and biology but we skipped over that to do physics/engineering applications which was infuriating. I don't regret it though, just having the practice kept me mentally fresh. I would recommend you do it solely in the interest of not being a piece of ****.

Does your teacher allow TI-Nspire CAS or ti-89 calculators? If so, the class becomes a whole lot easier. I didn't know about these calculators until after the fact, but picked up the Nspire CAS afterword for only 47$. Does symbolic integration/derivatives automatically which is pretty nice.

Hoenstly calc 2 is too interesting to be hard. the stuff you learn is pretty cool and VERY applicable. The integrals and differential equations should keep you entertained...definitely the most fun math course other than pure maths

It's not bad. I think the reason it has a reputation is it's generally the highest level math class a non math person will take.

You obtain the taylor series of a function by literally just plugging it into a formula. It's probably one of the easiest parts of calc 2, no?

Well you better understand Limits (Calc 1) and Algebra by heart. Once you start getting into derivatives and that all that stuff, Algebra will be your best friend.

Once again: Algebra will save you in that class. Rules of exponents, all that stuff you already forgot

Not that bad but its hard for people who dont know how to study math. It isnt a cupcake class though by any means. Lots of integration methods, and sequences and series

Yes for some odd reason people freak out about series, all it is is memorization, being clever with algebra, and using the same process to get an answer. Nothing to it.

Really not that difficult if you do your homeworks and some extra problems just for practice. If anything, it's just more time consuming than Calc 1.
Writing undergrad papers & helping on assignments at a fair price. Shoot me a PM for details/writing samples.

For the methods of integration, just do lots practice problems. It might seem hard at the beginning, but just practice will make it easier. THe hardest part IMO is the convergence/divergence test, you really have to understand the theory in order to say whether something is convergent or divergent.

Calc 2 all depends on the teacher and the teacher you had in calc 1 along with your work ethic. I thought it was really smooth myself.

What he said. I've taken all 3 calcs AND diff eq. And did pretty well in all of them. Just commit to it and you should be fine. Also checkout "theintegralcalc" vids or "patrickjmt" vids on YouTube if and when you eventually take it.

Calc 2 is two times harder than Calc 1 hence the name Calc 2. Just like Calc 3 is 3 times harder than Calc 1 or 3/2 times harder than Calc 2.

    "The Jewish New Year?"
"And that. Also the Welsh harp, Kentucky Fried Chicken, New York, New York-"
    "It's a wonderful town."
"The Greek Tragedy, the Roman Holiday and the Turkish Delight. Not to mention the American Pie."
    "The American Pie?"
