Though I think it is AWESOME when I was on here years ago there *seemed* to be a little less competing .... i am crazy excited so many more are deciding to step on stage - wonder thoughts on the contributor? more comps? bigger shows? more variety with categories? any insights?

Are competitions becoming bigger and greater? bikini/physiques help numbers?

I think it's great that more and more people are wanting to compete...but now it seems a lot of people are trying to compete in categories that they are not ready for. I find that it's kind of diluting the pool and some of the classes (i.e. Figure) are becoming smaller and softer. I imagine that the new Women's Physique category will eventually become what Figure was supposed to be.
I find a bigger contributor for the increase is people have either (1) lost a lot of weight and want to show off their hard work or (2) need a little more motivation to keep with going to the gym. I do think that having more categories is definitely what is attracting more and more competitors. I admire the work that the BB ladies put in, but that's not for me. But Figure, and maybe in the future, Physique both appeal to me as you can still be feminine with above average musculature for a lady.Coming out of "retirement"...Meg is training for a Figure competition...again!!!

that is a great prospective!!!! thank you so much for sharing your thoughts....i agree though i don't tend to carry a whole lot of muscle, i do find it way more attractive for a lady to have SOME amount of muscle mass....i think it shows dedication in the gym and more importantly - in the kitchen.....to simply lose weight (albeit AWESOME) but not lift isn't taking ones body (IMO) to its best......great thoughts!!!
