I have looked into getting TRX certified just to have as another tool in the arsenal for designing individualized workouts for people. It also satisfies CEUs for a lot of re-certifications. I have done a lot of research on it and love the entire idea of suspension training. I made my own suspension straps out of gymnastic rings and tie-downs. I have loved it. Suspension training adds (if done with the right technique) a whole new dimension to different exercises. I have also found that seniors and clients with LBP benefit and love the idea of controlling the angles and difficulty, as I allow. If you can afford the system I have heard great things and would love to attend a teaching class just to see even more suspension training has to offer.

I like mixing them in with other training for variety.
For some clients they are a great fit easily being able to adjust resistance just by angle.
I think most any suspension type trainer will work blast straps, rings, ect.

You can get quality work on suspension and it keeps things interesting for the client. What's not to like?

My University is offering this in a month at the beginning of next semester, so I am going to take advantage of gaining a certification. It is only a 1 or 2 full-day training course, so it shouldn't be too bad. I am currently studying for my NASM-CPT so I hope I can get it done before this. Hopefully its worth it and I can get some use out of it!

Being a former member of the Army, I've had extensive use of TRX (unofficial) with a lot of the straps for suspension training, simply because there was a limited amount of equipment for us to use. It definitely can help in several areas, but in and of itself is not a sole complete training method. I love incorporating it into my clients workouts, but again, it is another tool, like a kettlebell, to use to get them to their results succesfully, not a sole training solution
