    In an effort to promote my YouTube channel - The Strength Project - I've decided to make a thread here pertaining to any questions you guys may have. Can be related to pretty much any aspect of fitness or even topics barely related - I will answer as truthfully as possible and from my own perspective. I base all my advice off of a mix of my personal experience, and the reading that I've done. I have picked up a LOT of useful things over the years and been able to translate it to my own individual fitness and health, as well as giving useful tips to many others.

    To put things in perspective, 6 years ago I was 130 pounds bodyweight, unable to squat 135 lbs without falling over and/ or failing, and could not reach past my knees when performing the standing toe touch stretch. I've had knee tendinitis, quadriceps tendinitis, hip impingement, shoulder impingement, rotator cuff issues, upper back issues, lordosis, inactivating glutes, and a variety of other conflicts that got in the way of my training. This was all because I spent roughly 5 years of my life being a couch potato with absolute crap nutrition, and almost zero physical activity. I was in extremely bad shape when I first starting lifting weights but luckily, I was young enough and resilient enough to teach myself the ways of the weight warrior and that brings me here - to pass along information that I wish I would have had someone tell me when I was uninformed. I've trial & error'ed so many things and read up on so many different subjects to get where I am today and want to spread this knowledge amongst anyone who will listen.

    So ask me anything, and I will reply to the more common questions with a video answer, and the others with a reply ITT.

    Started lifting in the summer. Got my DL up to 350x1, but my glutes keep giving out pulling from the floor. Should I get off of SS or just deload it?

    What do you mean you glutes keep giving out? And SS will work fine for at least a year of weight training - I say figure out what is causing you to fail and re-address your goals.

    Video on developing/undeveloping bad habits in Oly lifting please

    edit - developing bad habits from training without a coach, and dealing with this problem

    edit2 - Also, the rack position in detail for front squat/clean...I always catch it in what is probably not a great position because I have a scrape around my clavicle and it hurts there sometimes after workouts

    How are your positions? Are you able to hold a rock solid bottom position with a tight core and upright trunk (both in the Bsq and Fsq?) Any videos?

    Without actually seeing, I am going to assume it is a structural problem as it usually is in the 95% of cases. Work on your flexibility, particularly hip, ankle, and thoracic mobility, as well as getting your core stronger through ab roll-outs, weighted planks, and hanging leg raises. Once these things are sorted out you can translate that leg strength much better.

    This is a great idea as I've developed very severe poor habits due to self-teaching myself, and had to relearn good habits and unlearn bad habits.

    What have you done for knee trouble? That has been my number one problem for squats. Recently switched to atg which is feeling a lot better but I still lift with a sleeve over one knee.

    Does it matter if I use two fingers in the rack position during the front squat? I find this the most comfortable for me, but I just wanted to hear your thoughts.

    At my current platue on squats. The thing that fails me is 1. it feels like my back will fall over causing me to fall forward if you understand? How can i fix this.
    2. also my ?groin? hurts while squating. Dunno if its called the groin, but inner thieghs, what could that be?
