Squats and front squats don't work for me that well because I tend to use a wide stance which starts working the inside of my quads.
Lately i've noticed that my inner quad muscle has grown much faster than my outer quad.
Is there any exercise that focuses on the outer quad more?

As far as squats and where they hit you the hardest, I think it really depends on your execution. I did wide stance squats for the longest and had the opposite effect from you.
But to give you a typical suggestion........
Machine hacks with a close stance (with your feet far ahead) is really good to me for hitting the outer quads (vastus lateralis).
Also..
Walking lunges tend to hit this area well depending how I do them (short step, and pushing off through my heels and outside of foot).
