    Calves too big?

I'm getting told 2 different things and I wanted to get your opinion on things.

My Arms are 15" my Calves are 17"

I'm being told to not work my calves and bulk up my arms... then I'm being told "Calves and Back are what judges want keep working both".

What do you all think? Thanks!

I have very large calves and I do lay off of them when my body gets a little out of balance. My rule is always try to keep calves and bi's about the same size. Hope that helps.
I'm just loving life. That's what it's all about in the end anyway.

I would keep working everything and just add in an arm specific weakpoint focus

Calves can never be too big, as good calves are not that common and really stand out. But....they are also not that important either to bodybuilding success, as IFBB pro's Dexter Jackson and Dennis Wolf, WNBF pro Brian Whitaker have all done just fine with with less than stellar calve development. Great calves are rare...if yours are a strong point keep working them along with everything else.

Bad calves have not lost any shows. IMO calves can be to big. Look at fankhouser. I dont think his lower body looks good, it ruins his flow I think. I think Jay cutler had the perfect balance in his cales/quads. Big and ripped, matched his thighs, aided in his overall flow.
    Just my opinion!

They can be if your back and upper legs don't match up, but not working them at all is silly. Just don't give them as much volume as you do your weak points. My calves are a serious strong point for me , 19+ inches, but my arms (17.5) and legs (26.5) are catching up and once that happens I'll have that "extra" edge.

Keep blasting those calves. When they hit 18 you might want to back off a bit, but consider yourself lucky you're one of "those" guys.
