    Deli meat

So if you buy the lower sodium options from the deli counter, is deli meat good for some quick to eat protein?

    yes.

you don't have to worry about sodium either, if you're concerned about water retention. huge acute swings in sodium intake may make you retain water, sodium in itself won't.

I definitely prefer the taste of home-cooked meat, but in a pinch I'll opt for the lease processed deli and it does the trick

Oh I love getting some nice fresh turkey or ham from the deli! As for sodium I don't really eat anything else with a lot of sodium in it so I don't think it's an issue. Might be a problem if you eat nothing but canned food or frozen dinners, actually if you live off of that kind of stuff sodium is not your biggest problem lol.

    Go ahead, enjoy dat ham!

Try Chilli Beef Jerky! I love it, it does have a ridiculously high sodium content but it has a crap load of protein. Also, the dryness of the meat means I don't need to wash my hands after eating which was an issue with eating deli meat by itself.
