    Question ISSA Fitness/Exercise Therapy

Reading over the specifications of the certification, it goes over what things you'll be learning to deal with and how to work with people who need/have the following:

    Post-Rehab Orthopedic Exercise
    Therapeutic Flexibility
    Stress Management
    Industrial Fitness/Workers Compensation
    Avoiding Injury Recurrence
    Drug Interaction With Exercise
    Sports Medicine and Health Care
Achieving Maximum Insurance Reimbursement In A Managed Care Environment

    AND
Learn to work with and develop exercise programs for individuals suffering from:
    Arthritis
    Osteoporosis
    Stroke
    Cardiac Problems
    Asthma
    Diabetes
    Hypertension
    Cancer Wellness
    Muscular Dystrophy
    Post Menopause

My question to you is this; if I get certified in this (I'm doing the Master Trainer's Certification) and I know all the things that a physical therapist knows, could I work in a rehabilitation office with physical therapist that went to college for that career?

    Thank you!
    Brandon

In my experience, it would be possible but unlikely. They'll want someone who went to school specifically to become a qualified physical therapist assistant. However, some may give you the chance to demonstrate why your skills would improve the quality of their care.

Probably not, you could however get a job as a PT aide, then if it is something you are really enjoying see what you need to do/talk to the PT's in your office about advancing in it.
I only know from having been in PT for the better part of the last year and a half, AND my best friend is an aide, he is now applying to PT schools but hes been working in the office for a few years and is just now going to school for it
