5 Week Out Update!!!!! Re Assesment, Change to Diet and training
Met with my coach after work today, its been 3 weeks since my last re assesment and 2 weeks since our last posing practice. Craig Bonnett (my coach) just got back to Winnipeg after him and Julie's anniversary trip to mexico, these coaches have treated me truly great and I'm so appreciative to have received a contest prep sponsorship from them..
Anyway, on to the update! My current weight is 186.8 I can't remember my BF% but il post it once i get my update email from Craig, After pinching my body fat, taking measurements, and images Craig has let me know that i have tightened up nicely these past couple weeks and I'm right on track for the 5 week out mark!
Diet
Carb cycle is remaining the same besides one minor change, he is making one of my moderate days another low carb day, this leaves me with 3 moderate, 3 low, 1 high. calories remain at 2600.
Training
Training has been great lately, a little flat at times but days like today (high carb day) I fill out and pump up great! I am noticably leaner in the mirror and seeing striations and quad ham separation really gets me fired up!!
I'm not sure the changes to my training yet, once I get my email later tonight I will know my list of exercises were going to change to, As i requested Craig always has me stick to my basic free weight compound lifts as the meat and potatoes of my training Isolation works comes second. I told Craig i can handle more volume and honestly want to train every body part twice a week as I have never done this.. He says with my training intensity it isnt the right time (being in prep) to make that drastic change instead we will be implementing 1 day a week priority training for my weak points, chest, rear delts. and whatever Craig has on the list, probably a few back exercises.
Yesterday was interesting at the gym.. I came to realize just how different a sport this is for us Naturals as it is for Enhanced guys, No hate intended, I have many friends who juice and i even believe it has its part in the sport, just not in my direction of competition.
This guys who I have talked to in the past, and i consider a "gym buddy" showed up at my new gym so I went to say hi and see how he was doing, This guys is HUGE, i mean he really has size to him. Ive never seen him on stage but his downfall is definitely his proportions, enormous arms, not very wide delts, but big chest, anyway I asked him if he was returning to the stage and he tells me "Actually i found out last week I have to re qualify for provincials so I'm doing Novice (same show as me) So im starting dieting 6 weeks out, Ya I will probably put on 15 pound of muscle in the next 6 weeks he says, now that ive added in the insulin and growth hormone... YIKES!!! What the hell. that is out of this world ****, and really, INSULIN? for a novice amateur show? Insulin is the stuff I have heard can kill you with the wrong dosage.. I just cant wrap my head around this. Although All the power to him i just smiled and went on with the conversation. His friend asked me what i was taking and when i responded nothing never have he told me I should start, explaining that the guys been a user of anabolics since he was 15..
Just had to share that story LOL
Post workout FoodPORN
Protein Oatmeal Banana Sludge
One of my favourite meals that i often eat multiple times a day,
half cup oats + little water + half cup egg whites, microwaved for 2 minutes and stired
1 banana split in 3 and microwaved until soft
1 scoop of your favourite protein (i used myofusion banana)
Mix it all up and you get a nice thick banana sludge, Also add some greek yogurt, vanilla, sweetener, and walden farms syrup to really put it over the top.

A Little Late... SORRY
So As i got further into prep and my everyday life got busier, and tougher do to the restricted cals, increased cardio and starting a new position at work. This led to me slacking majorly on this weak attempt and a contest prep log. For anyone who has checked in, SORRY about that.
Anyways, my first contest was a huge success. Not according to my placings, but i was out there for experience and to get a feel for the sport i have worked incredably hard for. I LOVED every minute of it, they say in bodybuilding you will no at your first comp whether its love or hate for you, whether or not you will fight to compete again or you will continue as a non competitor but remain a lifter.
I can not wait to get on stage again, I am currently 7 weeks out from show number 2. I expect to do better in this show for a couple reasons. 1. It is drug tested, its a natural show with the IDFA, they use urine, voice, and polygraph. 2. I am more comfortable and confident on stage after gaining some experience and meeting great people along the way, learning how a competition works.
I placed 3rd in middle weight out of three, LOL. Got myself a trophy for last place, but from the feedback i got it was a close class and I looked good on stage beside the other 2! It was fun!! In the junior class (23 and under) i got my ass kicked, there was HYOOOOGE Juniors, one of which was a super heavyweight... can you say cell tech? :P oh well its all part of the game i assume. Thats a little young to be into the dark side if you ask me, I was the only drug free competitor of my classes.
I learned the hard way you can not binge after the show, I ate out night of show, and got very intoxicated with my friends that came to the show, ate out for my dads bday the next day, and ate out a HYOOOGE amount of gourmet pizza the following day and thats all it took to blow up.. so uncomfortable, but 2 weeks after i dropped most of the water and don't look horrible.. deffenitly body fat snuck up on me though. I will reverse nicely after my next show, expecially as 2 weeks after my next show is Country Fest, huge outdoor 4 day country music festival that everyone my age goes to, its a party with all my friends and i want to look good for the 4 shirtless days :P
