Swordfish has about the highest mercury level of any commercially available seafood. (Source)

    Consume small amounts, if any.

I'd say once a week maximum. I'll also say to everyone that is reading this is to make sure you are consuming all your fish with some green tea/white tea/green tea supplement. Even black tea will help.

The antioxidants in tea help prevent heavy metals being absorbed in the intestine. A Japanese study found that green tea prevented the absorption of 92% of the heavy metals into the body. They bind to the molecules and stop your body taking it up. You should still be carefull and not consume too much, but adding tea may well help to reduce absorption.

Hard to find, but Paddlefish (aka "Spoonbill") is very close to Swordfish in taste and texture while being much lower in mercury.
Plus it's a lot of fun snagging for them below dams (and quite the workout really).
