Hi there,
I am new here. Looked for motivation on the net and got to this website and then just registered and followed the pages...I am a female, over 35, have been training by myself for the past 4 years, dropped 70 pounds 2 years ago, then got stuck...till now. I am still training , have home gym, but recently lost all motivation. I am desperate to find this spark that ignited it all at the beginning but can't find it any more.
Just was wondering if it happened to you and maybe ...just maybe, you could share it with me to help me out and find it again. Thank you .

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

There are still many days I think about giving up just due to the volume of work I do day-in day-out. Then I look at how far I've come and think of how stupid quitting would be. Sounds like you're at that place now.
Look at what youve accomplished. Losing 70 lbs. takes an enormous amount of work, use that as your spark.

The newness of your transformation wears off... you stop getting those random compliments... progress stalls... the same reasons you got fat in the first place are still appealing (food tastes good, exercise is hard, etc.)...
I think you need to re-write your goals - some near-term ones and some long term ones. Make them realistic but challenging.
Also, it may help to get out of the home gym for a short period and go to a public gym as motivation.
Just a couple thoughts. Bottom line is that there is no magic formula. Just keep working hard.David

Welcome. While I certainly can relate to losing that spark of motivation in sticking to a tight nutrition plan, can't say it's ever happened to me about training. Lifting heavy weights gives me great joy and satisfaction and is as every bit fresh, new, and exciting as it was on Day One.
Maybe set new strength goals for yourself each week? I keep a handwritten record of each and every single gym session. I don't walk out of those doors unless I've done *more* than the session before.Sheriff John Brown always hated me

Hi and welcome aboard!
Not much more to add here, although I'll agree that having a journal - handwritten or typed out here in the journals section - does help. I understand - my enthusiasm wanes from time to time, then bounces back, then wanes, then...
And, I wanted to say congratulations on your progress so far! Great job!No drama: You know where we are.
