I've been lifting for 3 months and I've finally got my routine sorted but I wanted to know if I should deadlift twice a week (every other week) or not? is it damaging/not recommended or will it make me look out of proportion or anything?
Here's my routine if you want to give any feedback:
A:
3x5 squat
3x5 bench
3x5 barbell rows
3x8 chinups
2x8 calf raises
2x12 hanging leg raises
B:
3x5 squat
3x5 overhead press
1x5 deadlift
3x8 pullups
2x8 bench dips
2x12 decline crunches
Thank you

Layne Norton squats and or deads 5x's a week. lol
Twice a week isn't that bad. Just listen to your body and be smart about it.Supplement a good diet: don't diet on supplements.

I do Jason DB's Novice 5x5 and I deadlift twice a week on every other week, whenever it's BAB. It's just like your program that you mentioned. Classic SS is the same. Since it's only 1x5 I think it's very doable.

The lower back is generally the slowest-recovering part of the human body, and as such, will require the most time to repair itself. Considering that Deadlifts allow a great deal of weight to be brought to bear on the lower back, and that it also gets worked at least to some extent during most other exercises, it's probably best to limit Deads to once per week.
As with all other factors affecting training, YMMV.No brain, no gain.

I do rack pulls or deads once ever 2-3 weeks. I squat and do RDL's or GM's every week.
