I too was a little concerned about how the glossy powder coat would affect my grip. With dry hands it's great no worries...which is nice because I love the fat bar for chins. I'll update how it holds up with sweaty hands once it gets warmer out....nothing chalk can't handle.
It absolutely feels like a new rack. Rogue told me back in 2012 that they would release swing safeties for the R3 in 8-10 weeks.....here we are in 2014 with nothing. I think they dropped some of the 2x3 planning once the monster stuff came out.
As for the added cross member (chin bar) it does add extra rigidity and improves stability compared to the stock R3 setup with the chin bar in the middle of the rack. It was fine before but now there's no sway at the top of the posts.

Yes, thats the sign of a professional, its not all about the money, its personal pride of production and his work living in your gym for the next 50 years, taking pride, so it should ship and arrive mint, as a reflection of the quality product and builder. Sloppy packing is my pet-peeve. Glad to hear it arrived solid, but I would expect no less from M6 from what Ive heard!

Vitracoat is awesome on pull-up bars because the texture adds a lot of grip, but not that scratch-resistant. We've gone to a standard black hammertone on anything that doesn't need to be gripped, and it shows a lot less wear. Safeties would be something we'd do with a hammertone (or leave bare like you do).

^^ He beat me to it. I did by an extra set of J-cups (for a total of four) and as you probably saw I had some custom made swing safeties. I still can't believe Rogue doesn't offer these as an option - ridiculous. Just cause I got some new Ivankos I'll spam my own rack thread with pron:
I'll add that I still love this rack even after all this time. I just had an offer from a guy I know who is building a gym in his basement to buy it and I would then "upgrade" but I think the R3BT is just so perfect I refused.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #79 []---[]

I know a lot of people like the full depth safeties, but I got these for my RML690
http://www.roguefitness.com/saml-24-...tter-arms-pair
and like them a lot better then full arm safeties as it allows me to get in and out of my rack easier, from the sides if I want.

I have a set of the spuds suspension strap, but so far I have had issues trying to figure out how to set these up. Either one side gets caught when on the j-hooks when trying to place the bar back. Or one time strap got hung up on a plate, and I about dropped the weight because it stopped about foot shorter than it should have.
