My trainer keeps telling me that I go too slow when I'm lifting and says better momentum will allow for me to achieve more reps. While my strength has definitely increase with the trainer, the size hasn't been keeping up as fast. So I was wondering what would be better for gaining size as an ectomorph, 4-1-3
or using momentum for getting bigger?

Well not technically thin, more like lean. Cause I'm 205 right now but I literally fit an ectomorph to the T. Perhaps it would be better to provide a picture.
Unfortunately, I can't post pictures on here yet cause I guess you need 50 posts to be able to post links or images, but if you click on my profile, or check out the attachment, IMAG0436.jpg I uploaded a picture so you guys can see my current standing.
As you can see, I have the long arms (come all the way down to my knees literally), and small frame, and just been building muscle on top of it. I've been eating definitely (already I've hit 4k calories for the day) but I know I'm going to do everything I can to try and overcome genetics.
That's why I was trying to figure out the 4-1-3 vs momentum.

If you're going to try to use rep tempo, I'd suggest having as fast of a concentric as you could, use a 2-4 second eccentric and a 1 second pause at the bottom. There is no real reason to purposely slow down the concentric phase of your lift.
