Incline bench creates better shaped chest?

I heard that just doing the incline bench and incline exercises to hit the upper chest creates a better looking chest.
    Kind of like Zyzz's chest?

True. Think of it this way, where the bar hits your chest is where you are working the most. Incline guillotine is great for upper chest. Decline is great for lower. And flat bench adds mass.

True/10, pair it with some flat bench and dips. A nice chest will prevail.

So there is an anatomical structure called lower chest and only flat bench can add mass to your chest?

Better genetics create better shaped chest.
I think the incline and the decline should be always a complement to the flat bench, not the main exercise

Yeah actually there are anatomical structures called the Sternocostal and Clavicular head; and you can emphasize different parts of your chest because not every single fiber is recruited the same amount on every exercise. "Strong unawareness.jpeg"

    Pick up an anatomy textbook.

For the most part I agree with incline recruiting more fibers in the clavicular head, but there are no independent structures that would make up "upper, middle, and lower" chest.

    Everyone's chest is different.

I do more incline because genetically my upper chest sucks.

Don't need to pick up an anatomy textbook.I open up cadavers on a regular basis and have one of the highest grades in the College Anatomy classes at my school;thanks for your suggestion though. Who ever said there were independent structures? Now you are just spewing nonsense to try and fight an argument that was never made.

You will most likely get best development from hitting the chest from a number of different angles.

It really is all to do with your genetics, you should do bench press at all three angles so as to build up mass and then you'll see how your chest is shaped, when you've built enough muscle without trying to isolate one part of your chest.

doing incline bench has an insane number of benefits on aesthetics. Upper chest is what gives you pecs in a shirt. If you only train lower chest with flat bench, and no incline bench for upper chest, what will happen is you'll end up looking like you have teddies (ofc unless you're like lean 5% BF) but doing inclines gives good proportion to one's chest, and is absolutely nescesary in all chest workouts. Alot of people with gynecomastia such as myself could also use incline bench to their advantage. if you're upperchest is well developed, you can't even see gyno through clothing because your upper chest is what shirts will be resting on, rather than resting on your lower chest and showing the ugly a$$ nips. nomsaiyan?

Um actually derek is right, no one said anything about independent structures, there is only the clavicular and sternal heads and obviously they can be emphasized through certain movements.

    Key word "emphasize".
You can do straight incline work and your entire chest will still develop, not just the minor.. It doesn't matter AT ALL if you activate every single fiber, both the upper/lower will both grow regardless.
However obviously hitting the muscle from different angles will lead to a more overall development.

He never said the chest had independent structures, infact he basically said its not, >>>>certain exercises enlist some parts more than others<<<<..
