This has got to be one of the coolest jobs ever.
2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Awesome pay. No commuting. No rent. Food taken care of. No hustle and bustle, no office bullchit, no ****gy coworkers who I want to push off a building.
Extra pay for remote locations isolated from everyone?Come at me bro, couldnt give a chit about being isolated and forever alone. In fact, I fcking hate 99% of people. Dangerous? Sure, at least theres excitement and I wont commit suicide from having such a fcking boring life.
Only problem is it seems like you need experience for most oil rig jobs. How do you get in with no experience?

Where do you live. Do you have any experience with manual labour? Most oil companies will hire you if you do and let them know you are willing to work in a physically demanding environment, isolated from the real world for weeks on end. Just apply for a leasehand position. If your in alberta pm me and i can send you in the right direction.

Dont know what its like now, but 16ish years ago when my dad started he literally phoned a certain unnamed recruitment company every day for months on end till they gave him a shot at the chittiest job available (believe its a roustabout?) seeing as he had no experience or qualifications
Worked his way up, earning dat cashmoney now nomsayin"Me, I want whats coming to me."
"Oh, well what's coming to you?"
"The world, chico, and everything in it."

Have you ever worked fourteen days straight before op? That **** is intense. Twelve hour shifts for fourteen days is going to break you down if you've never done it. I know a couple of guys that are in this line of work and all they talk about is how stressful their job is but they also say it's worth it for the money. Honestly I don't think I could do something like that for the amount of work you're doing. But good luck op I hope you know what you're getting yourself in to
