i dunno i think full range of motion but making sure not to lock out at the end or top (bench, squat, wall press, push downs, shoulder press) but then again i do sort of partial reps on bench press and shoulder press. the thing i dont lik about branch is that he never seems to be in control or the weights and they are but flying around and pulling him. opinons anyone??

Both have their place. IMO, it's very different when some guy who has 0 clue when it comes to lifting is doing partial reps swinging the weight around, because it's too heavy, and an advanced lifter who knows what he's doing (partial reps in this case), working the muscles that he wants to work.

Depends on what you mean by full range, if you go down halfway in a bench press then yes full range is more effective. However, if you stop an inch or so from your chest, and a little before lockout, I feel it keeps the tension on my chest throughout and I can feel it a lot more.

Partial range has its place. I do "chest pumps" when im warming up on my bench day. And after a workout I do the same thing.

Full ROM is essential to building and equal amount of muscle mas throughout partial raps has its time and place in bodybuilding when prepping for bodybuilding contest, but for just getting bigger and stronger and building a solid foundation to future your self in contest further on Full ROM is ideal
