I am starting to take this route too OP. I used to buy/want a lot of expensive brand name clothing. I will still buy name brand tees if the price is right and I like it enough. But lately I have been buying $5 v-necks.

So I am wasting money on trying to look nice? Brb Brooks Brothers, LL Bean, Lands End, Sperrys or Loafers everyday. There came a time when my dad said I was no longer a kid and it was time to dress like an adult. To me at first this seemed ridiculous but now it has grown on me.

I used to think like OP, then I realized 2 things.
1. people judge you by how you look right away, how you dress is huge in this. if you want immediate respect, then dress for it.
2. 10$ sweat pants and 10$ shirts will be garbage from use in a month or two in my experience. a nicely made 50$ dress/casual shirt can last you years.
for financial reasons and for style/respect reasons, I buy nice and well made clothing.

Clearly, OP is a goob. I wear nothing but khaki shorts when it's hot, gym shorts + hoodie when lifting, jeans or carhartt pants during winter, button down shirts, polos, t shirts, boots, etc etc etc.
I can't remember the last time I wore sweat pants. Come at me GeoffThis post is Natypes approved.

I personally spend a good amount of money on my clothes for quite a few reasons.
1) I'm done growing. Need clothes for the adult life.
2) More you pay, 9/10 it's better quality which = last longer.
3)Respect of appearance.
4) I like the feeling of looking nice.
I tend to shop at places like, H&M, Banana Republic, Guess, Calvin Klein, Polo, & etc.
I wear khakis or really nice jeans with button ups & a tie. With my leather dress shoes, or desert boots.
Or if it's casual I'll just wear a polo. or a V-Neck.
Of course there's the days where you can just wear whatever, but that's only sometimes. Shouldn't be a state of being.
At least buy jeans and t-shirts. You don't have to spend hundreds. You can easily spend 30 on a nice outfit.

Fit>Everything else.
Something that is truly comfortable without being slovenly, will inevitably also look nice (on the assumption that you have a tinge of color sense). You don't need to put a lot of thought or money into it, you just need common sense."Go for a middle schooler bro. It's not weird."--Cajunpballer
