I liked Limitless and Hangovers obviously, but I couldn't think of anything else I've seen him in. I IMDB'd his bio, and yeah I haven't seen most those movies. The A-Team was bad, but I liked him in it and thought he did a good job. The rest I can't recall seeing.

I just read his IMDB list of flaming turds.

He appears to be the Doritoson of Hollywood. A few awesome movies and a bunch of irrelevant garbage than nobody watches or cares about.

He's an "actor's actor" though. I admire that about him.

He's not a pretty boy that got thrown in a script for the eye candy.

He actually comes from the college of arts and sciences of Pace University.

Of James Lipton/Inside the Actors Studio fame.

He couldn't stop crying when they invited him back as the subject of the program.

He was the D-bag in Wedding Crashers and one of the best friendsin Failure to Launch (a Matthew McWhatshisface movie).

I saw All about Steve on FX. Had Sandra Bullock. Goofy movie. Worthy enough to pass the time and not hate yourself. Not good enough to put forth effort to see. He had a small role in Yes Man (funny Jim Carrey movie).

He was pretty good in The Midnight Meat Train.

That is all I've seen him in.

Kevin Rider, age 14, was withdrawing from Prozac when he died from a gunshot wound to his head. While you don't come right out and say it, by reposting you imply that these drugs may be a common factor and thus a starting point (or research point) for a solution to mitigate/prevent these things. I applaud you for the first semi (albeit through my own interpretation and putting words in your mouth/brain) constructive post in the gun debate argument.

That wouldn't make it a gun debate, that would make it a mental illness/medication debate.

I'm sorry you didn't find flat out disproving everything the 'other side' has said to be constructive. I guess the best defense is a good offense, after all.

Have you come across any research that shows a significant cross section of mental illness medication and gun violence?

That is a huge part of the gun debate. People are trying to find a solution/preventative measure to these mass shootings. Presenting an alternative solution vs stricter gun laws is a good way to actually debate the issue vs constantly saying their ideas won't work let's do nothing.

    I have not.

But the correlation is impossible to ignore, and the only other significant correlation I have noticed is the selection of "gun free" (aka criminal empowerment) zones as the target(s).

I don't have an alternative solution, exactly, just a different focus of what the 'problem' is. I don't have a concrete suggestion on what to do about it...I (and the public in general, it seems) don't know enough about it. The research mjw asked about above would be a GREAT start, though.

Also, I guess you didn't see those posts, but I have certainly made suggestions about what to do.

Stop making schools and certain other locations prime targets by declaring them to be "gun free", thus ensuring that the psychopath does not meet armed resistance. That should be step 1, and should have been done years ago. Declaring these locations "gun free" is about as useful as making murder illegal. At least have controlled access with armed security to back it up, like many court houses and government buildings and prisons/jails. Then the "gun free" (well, other than the armed guards/LEOs) label might actually carry some weight

    But really.

A bunch of people were on drugs, presumably because they had, oh, I dunno... mental health problems?

And we've all pretty well agreed that anyone who shoots a dozen kids has serious mental health problems.

    So, the hypotheses:
    - These people are behaving less violently because of the help (drugs) they get (here is where you can't prove the null?)
    - These people are behaving more violently because of the help they get (some amateur psychiatrist makes a FB post?)

Point: Not enough data to draw a conclusion, but people will do it anyway.

Does it look different to you?

The vast majority of these mass/public shootings have occurred where firearms are prohibited and, often, illegal.

Possession of a firearm in the the vast majority of locations within these states is not prohibited or illegal.

In all of the big name/big body count cases, firearms were prohibited/illegal.

If you wish to disagree with these observations, please do so.

Personally, I post it because it seems extremely likely that mental illness is the problem here. The fact that SO MANY of them are on medications for it is a pretty good indicator that they were mentally ill...and somebody KNEW they were mentally ill. Hence, mentall illness is a major issue here.
