And fck loud popcorn eaters, too. I can appreciate that one cannot ingest popcorn in complete silence, but some people seem to go out of their way to make overly dramatic chomping noises. Even worse when combined with mouth-breathing. It sounds like a toothless cat eating canned food.

It's like people treat eating movie theater popcorn as some sort of novelty. They chomp on it as if to say, "YEAH MOTHERFCKER! WE'RE AT THE MOVIE THEATER AND WE'RE EATING POPCORN!"

I get exceptionally annoyed at the theater anymore. Idiots banging into your seat, jabbering to their equally brainless companion, plonking away on their phone... bah. If I could go to the theater and have no one else be there, I'd like it a lot better.

Most of the time now I just wait for stuff to come out on video.

Hence why I hadn't been since '07. We wanted to check out the cinema in our new town, and my fiance has wanted to see the Hobbit. The experience really wasn't so bad this time; I just tend to be hyper alert to the stuff going on around me, so stuff like mouth-breathing, loud eating, shuffling, talking, etc annoys me more than it probably does most other people. We normally pick non-busy times and sit in the very back so nobody is behind us, but she wanted to sit further up today.

It just confounds me how people can't even pull it together for a couple hours to sit quietly and watch a movie in a theater with others who paid the same price for admission. You're not sitting on your living room sofa -- leave your weirdness and gross/annoying habits at home for just two or three hours so everyone else can enjoy their experience too.

Gonna try these sounds Lencho posted...45 minutes is about how long I read when I read so will be interesting to see if listening to the Binaural stuff improves speed and focus. Not sure if I will do the Lucid Dream Induction one or not...I can get to sleep pretty easily most nights. I think a new mattress will resolve most my sleeping woes.

I tried the sleep one last night. I ripped the youtube video to mp3 and uploaded to my mp3 player. Had a little speaker dock near my bed and put it on repeat.

I slept pretty damn good for nearly 12 hours. I woke up like every hour and a half (would coincide with the sleep cycles and crap). The worst part of my sleep was when it got hot in my place, opened the window and turned the speakers up just a bit louder to compensate and off to sleep I went again.

I plan to test out the reading one today.

Ugh, I dunno what it was, but I went to a movie a month or so before I left for vacation with my buddy. In general he is a loud eater, especially when he gets nachos on those oddly noisy plastic trays. Since he can't seem to pick up a single chip, he has to scrape around for a small handful as it echos off of the tray. I look forward to him running out of chips.

But then we sat in front of some random group that talked throughout and had 1 or 2 of the noisiest popcorn eaters I've ever heard. I swear it was like they were digging their hand into the bottom of the bag to find that perfect kernel or something. I honestly could not recreate the noise they caused with their bag of popcorn like they did. It was pissing me off more than being stuck next/near to kids in a theater.

I had that shortly before my vacation started. Hated it. The flu broke just before i started the vacation, but was left with lingering symptoms for most of my vacation.
