Who says I haven't already?
But yeah, you're right -- my mind is running a million miles an hour when my head hits the pillow. I've tried everything I can think of, from having a set schedule of going to bed, not using TV/computer before bed (doesn't seem to make a difference either way--f*ck you, scientific studies), sleep aides, reading...nothing is working.
Thanks, I2M.

I've been using PHP and mysql for a long time now, since 1998, and while I've worked with Wordpress sites before I'd never put my own together. It's not perfect, nothing is, but it sure saves a lot of time these days if you want a basic CMS and blog platform.
The goal with this site is simplicity and I'm happy so far. I didn't want to start with a cluttered theme and slowly remove stuff, so I bought a really clean looking one and customized it. The 'gallery' section is idiot proof. I've put around 30 prints in there, all diverse, with no categories. You see some sites where they'll spread out 100s of shots across a bunch of categories, they all look similar, so buyers must sit there thinking 'which one do I buy?' I'd rather leave a lot out and gradually add to it.

Glad to see Pioli go, but no coach on earth is going to help that team win until they find a halfway decent QB. Quinn is awful and I'm not sure Cassel is salvageable at this point. Between the elite level players like Manning, Brady and Rodgers, and the new wave of speedy, read-option QBs coming in, there is no room in today's NFL for mediocrity at the position.

I don't know if I like where this is headed.
I agree, they do need a QB.On the bright side, though, The Eagles were a joke when Reid took over and look what he did for them. He will turn that team around, it just might take a season or two. I could also see Vick following him there, or the Chiefs making a run at Rivers, who is a free agent I believe.
Either way, good move for the Chiefs, I think.I remove my shirt to poop crew

Agreed. Reid is known for fostering/building QBs, so maybe he can either salvage Cassel or bring up whatever QB they mgiht overpay for in the draft.
Hell... if only the danm Chiefs didn't mismanage their rushing asset.
In 3 games, Charles had less than 10 carries. In 6 games he had less than 15 carries. In 10 games he had less than 20 carries.
Still managed 1500 rushing yards this season after that garbage.-

I used to think that "not thinking" could work, but could never shut off that switch. In the spirit of "if ya can't beat 'em, join 'em" thinking about something else, preferably mind-numbing has helped greatly, and that is exactly: next upcoming workout. I mentally "do" each exercise, poundage, set, rep from start to end. I'm usually asleep before I finish, but if not, do the workout over again. I've never had to go a 3rd time.
Of course, you have to have a workout planned...

Got into over the summer. I use different beats/waves for different things.
I'm a fairly fast reader, but I began to notice over the years that my retention was turning to sh*t. Lots of mind wandering going on while reading. I'd read 3-4 pages, stop, and then go back to find that I couldn't recall anything of what I'd just read. I used to read 15-20 books a year in my 20's, but when life got more hectic (kids, jobs, etc.), it slowed down a ton. Then, whenever I did find the time to read something, I discovered that it was taking me forever to get through a book. It got so bad that I just quit, and for about 4-5 years, I can't recall finishing a single book.
Started using the beats below while reading, and my focus stays sharp the entire time. I'm able to read longer, faster, and the retention is as good as ever. Read three books in the last six months of 2012, which is about as much as I can handle with everything else I've got going on.
For sleep, I got into using lucid dream inducers like this one:
Didn't care about having a lucid dream, per se, but this has worked for me.Here Lies the Rant

So do you just play that youtube video in the background while you read a book?
What about for the sleep one? Put it on an mp3 player and set it to repeat or something?-

Wake up between 5:30-6:00, using this. It attempts to wake you up when you are coming out of a period of deep sleep.
Caffeine consumption is usually just 20-24 oz./day of morning coffee. However, I have no issue with caffeine in the evenings. I can have a cup of coffee or tea at 9:00 pm and still fall asleep by 10:30 or 11:00.
Alcohol consumption is non-existent. I will have a beer every once in a while, but I'm not the type to have just one or two beers with dinner on a regular basis. When I drink, I drink. Haven't been drunk since a trip to Vegas in July. Here Lies the Rant

I'm currently watching a re-run episode of Everybody Loves Raymond.
And you know what? I'm enjoying the fuck out of it.
