If they're impacted, there's going to be some recovery involved, but should be okay. I had all mine removed as soon as they came in, so it was no big deal.

If they've already come in, then it is a simple process. Local anesthetic, yank the teeth, stuff the gauze in your mouth, send you on your way with some prescriptions to fill if you need them for the pain.

If they haven't come in, you'll probably be put under as they cut into your gums, yank them out, stitch them up, stuff the gauze in your mouth, send you on your way with someone who won't be driving under the influence with some prescriptions to fill if you need them for the pain.

Either way, it isn't that horrible. Being put under is nice, because you just go to sleep and wake up and it is all done.

They are starting to protrude a tad farther than my other teeth. He said they weren't really causing any issues at the moment but they are very hard to clean. He said they may cause some issues down the line, when I am older.

I'd recommend getting drunk and calling your former boss to get her opinion/mailing address before doing anything.

Typically, they can cause issues with shoving your other teeth out of line, etc. If he's recommending it, I'd tend to go with that advice. The longer they're in, the more trouble they'll be to remove.
