Thumbs up Stages of Getting in Shape, what is/was yours?

    Hi Gang,

I know that we all come from different walks of life and different starting points. For me, I've noticed I've gone thru three stages: Weight loss, Getting in Shape, and Turning Heads.

Stage 1: I lost 58 lbs in 4 months. My partner was the first to notice and then a few buddies, as I started to thin down. Also, they notice I wasn't drinking as much. I had a few people who asked if everything was "alright" because I was losing so much weight so quickly. Went from round to lean(er). BF over 25% when I started.

Stage 2: Went from emphasis on cardio/weight loss, to weights/protein increase. Started to pack on muscle. Muscles started to form, noticed it first in my triceps..they started to form/stick out. And for the first time in my life I had calf muscles! BF 15%

Stage 3: Still working out hard but have now included HITT. Body Fat down to 10%. Six pack emerging. Watch EVERYTHING I eat. Girls heads starting to turn. Guys/Gals asking what I do for a living...bouncer or even work as a male stripper? ha ha

When I look back between stage 1 and 2, the comments were more..."Attah Boy". Now their more like...Wow!

For those of you just starting out...trust me, if you keep to it, this will happen to you as well. It takes time and dedication...but you WILL succeed!

Share with us, your own stages.

stage 1: 108 lbs, joined the marine corps. was 125 lbs after combat training. thanks uncle sam.

stage 2: 120 lbs before dployment. was ~140 after. again thanks uncle sam.(bulked and did SS routine)

stage 3: lost motivation, fell into bad habits once home, had girl trouble over and over. lost 10 lbs and gained some fat. attempts to get back into a routine fell short. and that was about a month ago. been on a basic basic newb routine and bulk diet, so far only up to 134 lbs. and eating around 2400 cals a day. trying to work my way back up to 3k cals a day and respectable lifts in the gym. schit feels bad man.
