Not making gains as fast as others

Stuff like this really gets me down, I don't know why. All these *******s at my school have started lifting now. They don't deadlift, their routines are chit, squat on the smith machine, etc and yet a lot of them improve a lot more then I have. I'm lucky if I gain 500g weight in a week, others gain a few kilos. A lot of my lifts aren't that impressive either, some kids are benching bodyweight and I'm nowhere near. I've always been sporty but never had any real natural talent, and it makes me feel like chit that it's the same even for lifting. One thing I'm not doing is making excuses. I'm still going 5 times a week working my ass off, eating right, learning as much as I can. It's just something that annoys me, especially since when I started I considered lifting to be something special for me, and advantage if you will whilst all these other kids were making fun of me for it. Now they are all lifting and surpassing me

This is what it sounds like to me. I make slow progress, but I've been slowed down by injuries, travel for work resulting in bad diet, and lack of motivation and I've still dropped about 8% bf in the last year. Reevaluate what you're doing, don't get discouraged. Hit the gym hard, lift heavy, eat right and eat big.

If you want to get stronger do a lot of power lifts and explosive workouts, Powercleans got my overall strength higher, lol it actually broke my bench pleatue, and yeah it does suck im the same place you are man! i know kids eating cookies and pizza everyday but still way stronger and bigger then me, I never believed it until recently, but it has a lot to do with genetics, Were going to have to bust our asses a lot longer lol just keep going hard results will come eventually! btw post your routine so one of us can help you make it better.

    1. You can't say that as you don't know what I started off at. Originally I was 6kg lighter, 3 and a half months ago. Literally eating myself to death. Even then though my weight gain isn't as good as I have hoped. Even though I'm eating as much as I can one friend I am lifting with finished a 375g jar of peanut butter in one sitting before bed. Naturally ectomorph. That chit is insane, how can I compete?

    2. Chest/Triceps/Shoulders
    Back/Biceps
    Legs
    Rest
    Repeat

Seems pretty standard, is there much wrong with it?

I'm off to lift brahs, will be back to read and reply to responses in two hours. Please keep them coming!

    1. I can just say that because I see it on here every day. There are no body types, you arent ectomorph. You aren't eating yourself to death. Do you count your calories? im guessing you dont. What kind of foods do you eat? I already know what your answers are going to be to these questions.

Complaining and bi*ching about your situation won't get you anywhere in life.

Apply this to your current "dilemma" OP.
    - Figure out what's wrong (Your not eating enough, and your routine is lacking)
    - Figure out what you need to do to get yourself out of it
    - Man up, grip your balls and try your damn hardest to achieve your goals
    - Get the progress/goals that your determined to have and ensure that you don't make the same mistakes that you did last time.

    Time to man up.

Bro, the question is do you want to be a weight lifter or a body builder. If you want to build muscle, doing light weight won't hurt ya, plus it will allow you to get the form right. When i started gyming, i dumbbell pressed 10kg while my mates were doing 30kg. I moved my way up to 50kg and they are still on 30kg. I took my time, and in the end my results were better than theirs.

one main thing to consider is your diet, believe me or not...eating a lot of meat will give you **** loads of energy compare to eating a lot of carbs, idk that is how i feel. Another thing to consider, are you doing your workout the right way...

Huh? Are you saying they are frauding? How much weight per fortnight should I be aiming for to start to get my weight up to something decent?

Can someone elaborate on the routine bit, I don't really see whats wrong with it. Usually I did shoulders after legs but that meant I did shoulders every day basically so I switched it to chest/tris day. Compound exercises make up the majority of my routine. My body looks to have improved but strength still seems to be lacking, even though I'm keeping my lifts around the 8 rep range.

If they are gaining a few kilos a week they are becoming the ultimate fat boys but most likely they are lying to you. get them to show you some progress pics to prove (nohomo). I never really had an "aim" of how many per week i had a long term goal of say a few months but i guess most people aim around for 1/2 pound / week not too sure do some research for yourself i guess depends how much fat you are willing to put on etc.

Yeah it's possible they are not weighing properly or frauding, this one guy told me he gained 10kg in two weeks, phucking lol'd and said pics or it didn't happen. I don't care how much fat I put on because of my weight obviously, I want to bulk up until I'm feeling fat (woah what will it be like to know this feel) always easy for me to shred down later.

I don't feel tired though, and I really enjoy being in the gym, much better then wasting my time at home. Is 4 days a week really needed?

0.5Kg per week is NOT slow! Unless it's all fat obviously.
Just focus on form if you think aestehtics > fuctional strength.
You can't expect to gain more than a Kg a week m8, most of it will be fat anyway unless you're using dodgy products (knowamsayin').
Stick with it! All progress is good progress.

It's not about where you started, it's about where you finished.
maybe they're good at start but keep it slow and steady never stop man 1 kilo a week sounds like bunch of fat. 500g a week is pretty good fat/muscle ratio just eat clean, train smart and don't forget to rest

Now they are all lifting and surpassing me
If you are doing everything right, then things happen as they are supposed to. If they are not happening then u r doing it wrong.

first of all you will never gain more than 30 lbs of dry muscle in a year, even 25 lbs, maybe 20 lbs too. so do not worry about weight gain in kilos per week. 1 lb/week is fine.

get on a better routine. lots of already made routines are around here.

stop comparing yourself to anyone. At this point you are not aware of the factors which u should know before u can compare yourself with others. You will learn eventually.

there is no way you db bench 50kg each hand for reps. you mean 25kg each hand. no offence
