The whole menstruation issue is I think, a bit overblown, before we deployed, every single female in our unit got a Depo shoot. So early on that wasn't an issue whatsoever.

People fail to mention HOW Jessica lynch got caught...
Her gun jammed, she didn't/couldn't unjam it because she panicked, instead she pulled her knees up to her face and cried while the convoy was getting shot at. (Read her book)
What happened to her just serves as a reminder why this is all a bad idea...Starting weight- May 14 2011- 184

Woman can do some of the more basic things in terms of combat and what not.
There's plenty of room for woman in the military, however they'd have to be strictly female units for the most part. Most woman would hold back any group of males in the military, and that's just talking about the physical aspects much less the mental.Access the gun's off the earth axis

The most stupid assumption that seems to persist here is that ALL men are stronger than ALL women. It is true only as a generality. You might say that on average men are stronger than women. Stronger is always relative, and there plenty of women who are capable of meeting the basic physical demands of a combat situation. There are so many notions of a platoon carrying a ton of gear across a hostile foreign countryside, or having to single-handedly carry the dead weight of a wounded 250 lb soldier every day...it is bizarrely ignorant and pathetically romanticized.
It seems many you only image women as the dainty, petite moaning sluts of your juvenile sexual fantasies, but biology is a bit more dynamic and varied than that. The valley girly girl who talks like a phone sex operator in everyday conversation is not likely going to be the one to volunteer to enter a combat situation.
I really didn't know there was still such a widespread disrespect for women in general among men. You guys disappoint me. But Ill go over to the relationship forums and you will all be there whining about how you can't get a woman to go for you. Might be your attitude, just saying.

See, what you tried to do was come off as intelligent and looking at things from a different perspective, but what you did instead was go full retard...and we know that you're NEVER supposes to go full retard.
This "assumption" you speak of is based on means and averages. Are ALL men going to be stronger than ALL women, no, and NOBODY is arguing that false strawmen you've introduced, but logic, basic common sense and known data tells us that that the average man WILL be stronger than a woman. We also know empirically that men on average have better physical prowess, it is this reason why the military has varying PT standards for both men and women. Nobody is here looking for the outlier case of your super "GI Jane" types, we're looking at an average male soldier vs an average female soldier, and in that situation your point is useless.
I don't know about you, but I also speak from experience of having been in a combat zone with women and I can tell you to take all your sunshine and rainbows nonsense and stick it where the sun don't shine. What it meant for the men in my platoon was more work, more stress, more drama with very little actual upside. People can talk about this stuff theoretically, I've seen what it looks like in reality....and its not pretty.
War is serious business and its no place to be interjecting this BS feminist mentality where it simply doesn't belong. Not having women in combat isn't exactly hurting women either, take away the handful of combat arms jobs in the Army and they've only got oh.....about 50+ to choose from???
The current system has worked, is working and I have yet to see a single compelling reason why women are needed on the front lines so urgently.Last edited by ElMariachi; 11-28-2012 at 12:14 PM.

In this particular thread it isn't so much as a "widespread disrespect for women "as it is a GENERAL RESPECT FOR HUMAN LIFE. I understand how it may seem like theres women-hating in the misc, but if you're posting in this thread and disagreeing with actual military men who have provided AMPLE evidence that they shouldn't be on the front lines, you look like a retard.
Human lives are at stake in war, and having women at the front lines risks those lives. Need reasons? Read this fukking thread moran.5.0 crew

The military works on generalizations and averages...
Also... Like I said last night, there are a lot of reasons, physical standards non-withstanding, that the general officers who make these decisions have not ruled women qualified for combat service. It isn't because they are all "Old sexist men" It is because women in combat ARE a liability. Even if not on a physical level... they are STILL a liability. Until this becomes untrue, the decision will not be made to allow them to serve in a combat capacity.
I don't "Hate" women (for obvious reasons)... I am just being realistic... ****, To get into my career we have a "body type" requirement (You have to be able to lift like 50 lbs over your head) and... Lets just say very few females even Qualify for this (And that is a silly easy requirement)... So I think that it is a fair statement that men are stronger then women... Even if it is based on averages and generalizations... it is accurate.Starting weight- May 14 2011- 184

Sunshine and rainbows??? Now who went full retard? The fact that the average man is stronger than the average woman says nothing about weather the average woman is strong enough to handle the basic physical demands of a combat situation. It also does not mean that there are no women who are not stronger than the average man. You are operating from a stock of prejudices, not the least of which is that you had to work harder because women were present....how do you quantify or qualify that? No one is arguing that there are no differences between men and women, only that the over-all demand placed on soldiers is not one that both the average man and average woman could not handle.

At my last unit I was groundside on Camp Schwab, no females on the entire base bar 7 in ammo company. No girls in my unit, nothing to worry about. Now I'm sent to this airwing schoolhouse and in the first 3 months nearly get slammed with sexual harassment cause this girl had a guy hovering outside her room and I told him to just go in already. Anyone who has ever had to go to a boot schoolhouse in I'm sure any branch knows what I'm talking about. One chick sitting on a picnic bench surrounded by 12 dopey mother ****ers trying to slay her snatch. Chits annoying af.

I think what it boils down to is pros vs cons. The only pros of letting women serve in infantry roles is that it would appease feminists and the very small % of women who actually want to serve in the infantry all the while promoting this idealistic view of gender equality. The possible cons are pretty long and even if 3/4ths of those cons turn out to be sexist, unfounded, or whatever, that still leaves more cons than pros. I have still yet to see a good reason why women in infantry would be beneficial in any way to anybody.

i read somewhere that after the first female POW in the 1st gulf war (female flight surgeon) was captured, the men that were captured with her couldnt stop thinking that the iraqis were going to rape her. even as she was being tortured/interogated, she was trying to be mindful of her screams, knowing that the captured men would get killed trying to fight back to get to her. the pentagon and military officials tried to fluff her incident, stating that she received indecent assault, vice calling it sexual assault/rape. she even tried to be a hero about it and denied it, stating that she was inappropriately touched. she later stated in a military commission that she was violated vaginally and rectally.
