My gym partner is always coming up with excuses why he can't make it to the gym. I do a five day split of which he usually makes one or two days a week. It's gotten to te point I just tell him when I'm going and refuse to change my schedule because he always has a last minute excuse. Well last nights actually left me pretty speechless so I thought I'd take a screenshot and share it. Had to edit out a little of the convo but the excuse was priceless. Anybody else get this from their partners.

Seriously for me when it comes to lifting I don't give a phcuk how good a friend he is.
When I first started lifting seriously I trained with my best friend; we went to the local community center, but we trained regularly. They closed it for 2 weeks to renovate. My next door neighbor (who didn't even look like he lifted) was a member of Powerhouse and got me a week pass there. My buddy/training partner wouldn't even come with me to check it out. He was bigger than me, never trained legs, and I guess he was happy being the big fish in a small pond.
I wanted MOAR.
I joined Powerhouse and left his ass behind. Ran into him about a year ago at my gym and he didn't even look like he lifted. I was talking about my deadlifts and squats and how good my training was going. He said something like "What do you want to be, a monster? We're in our 40's. I'm going for the beach bod."

I'm like flex, I dont train around a workout partner.
I do have people join me for training sometimes, but they do my workout on my schedule or they don't train with me.
Why should I change my routine for someone who will probably quit in a month or 2, or only show up once or twice per week.Last edited by chodan9; 11-29-2012 at 12:53 PM.

That was, without a doubt, the most lame excuse I've seen to skip a session.
I'd have been hard pressed for the response it deserves. Agreed on the man-card revoking.
Laundry? Hell yes, all the time.
Fold? Not even once.
Was somewhat surprised when my buddy made it to yesterday's AM session. He'd been trying to push the time back until late afternoon, when his GF's ex is normally there.....seems he wants to see for himself if the dude is following her around the gym. Gym drama.....do not want. Buddy is one hilarious hombre, though. The trash he'd have talked would have been funny.I may look like Santa Claus.....but I'm feeling like Elvis...........

I tell it like it is, if you want smoke blown up your ass or something sugar coated. I suggest you get a Hooker and a powdered donut.
