Thanks bro. I have a log going in the workout section, the link should be in my sig. You should stop by and follow along. There's a lot of good bros in there with awesome advice. I post my videos also which adds some coolness to the log lol.

I definitely work my rotator cuffs which is important. If you bench properly your rotator cuffs should be fine.

OP take pic of yourself and post (no homo). From that pic we would probably be able to tell how long you've been lifting for, bf%,etc...

Instead of asking for a picture the best thing the OP can do is post a video to get some critique on his bench.

I've seen guys jacked and yet can't bench they're body weight. You seeing his picture isn't going to help any.

I'm confused. When someone says he can bench 175lbs, does he mean 175lbs for each side?

I'm taller and weigh roughly the same thing and bench over 100 pounds more than him. Granted I've been lifting longer. So just because of his stats you cannot base how much you think someone can lift.

    Lol.

Do people really think that height causes a bench weight stagnation? Lot of bad form in this thread.

To many people with excuses. I always hear the whole height excuse, even when it comes to squats and deadlifts.

I use to be able to bench 210 intill I broke my collarbone in august. My strenghth has dimished greatly since being off for 2 months. Now every time I bench it hurts... even with 135lbs....
You need to work on your bar path. In no way should you be bringing the bar down to your collar bone area.

Too many possibilities to list here, have you been adding a little weight each session? Or are you watching the Bro's at the gym who bench the same amount every week for about 1 hour because they take 15 min breaks to get water and flex in the mirror? Just kidding! Seriously though, what is your diet and training like, give us an example.

Yup. 95% of people have ****ty bench form, which is usually the reason.

I impinged my RC a while back and it still bugs me. I still flat bench and have limited aggravation of it, it's just a matter of form and bar path.

Definitely agree. I'm 6'2 and not once have I used my height, arm length or whatever other excuse to say I can't bench, squat or deadlift. You work with what you have, learn proper technique and form while constantly striving to do better than the last gym session.

I have found that incorporating dips (and eventually progressing to weighted dips) has a positive impact on the bench press. YMMV.

Too tall to bench? Really? Guess all those powerlifters 6'+ shouldn't bench at all!

These^ plenty of guys can throw up more than 175 at 6"2 or taller. How long has OP been training? Didn't catch that. Anyways, assuming your form is on point I'd say try out a 5x5 program, get a solid partner and incorporate some forced reps, I usually find that's the quickest way I've been able to improve my bench numbers.

Jesus H Christ the level of bad in this thread hurts my head. Height affecting your bench??? I can think of quite a few 6'3"+ guys that bench plenty playing in the NFL.

Maybe he shouldn't be a retarded and bench with the bar coming down to his collar bone.

stopping a couple inches from your chest is good enough you don't need to touch the bar to your chest to make it a "full rep", Cutler isn't even doing that here
