You question the belief of God`s existence as an agnostic, your not sure, a Doubting Thomas so to speak, you must still be on the Search, convincing proof, nothing wrong with that, Faith. I am not over reacting and I don`t plan on rioting and murdering innocents, I guess I took for granted in Western Society, people would be shocked, by such musings of a public figure, perhaps not any longer since virtually anything can be said and excused with the core basis for their beliefs or unbelief [Man prefers Darkness}

Its simply a matter of freedom of speech for me. I will not allow the words of another to have a negative effect upon me, there is nothing to be gained. That and I don't think God is interested in my coming to his defense, I think he's interested in my coming to him in faith, he'll do the rest. A big part of the issue is everybody is offended by anything anymore, its just freaking ridiculous.

This is my take on it: Jamie Foxx is a comedian. Comedians can say a whole lot of things in 'jest' that are quite revealing of the truth (sometimes deliberately). For many, Obama IS their lord and savior. Unfortunately! They look to him to meet their needs. Isn't that precisely the purpose of an ever increasing, expanding, all encompassing Federal Government?

I just cannot see the value in belittling someone, calling them a coward, simply because they say the believe in something, yet have not found the answer to what. I feel its absurd to claim to know what another person thinks, feels, or believes, especially about a subject like faith.

It is quite obvious that he was playing to the whole "Obama as second-coming/messiah" thing that has been bouncing around for years. It's just a joke.

Food for thought!
Thomas Jefferson would be in shock if he could see how our country has 'evolved'.
Thomas Jefferson was a very remarkable man who started learning very early in life and never stopped.
At 5, began studying under his cousin's tutor.
At 9, studied Latin, Greek and French.
At 14, studied classical literature and additional languages.
At 16, entered the College of William and Mary.
At 19, studied Law for 5 years starting under George Wythe.
At 23, started his own law practice.
At 25, was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses.
At 31, wrote the widely circulated "Summary View of the Rights of British America and retired from his law practice.
At 32, was a Delegate to the Second Continental Congress.
At 33, wrote the Declaration of Independence.
At 33, took three years to revise Virginia 's legal code and wrote a Public Education bill and a statute for Religious Freedom.
At 36, was elected the second Governor of Virginia, succeeding Patrick Henry.
At 40, served in Congress for two years.
At 41, was the American minister to France , and negotiated commercial treaties with European nations along with Ben Franklin and John A dams.
At 46, served as the first Secretary of State under George Washington.
At 53, served as Vice President and was elected president of the American Philosophical Society.
At 55, drafted the Kentucky Resolutions, and became the active head of Republican Party.
At 57, was elected the third president of the United States .
At 60, obtained the Louisiana Purchase , doubling the nation's size.
At 61, was elected to a second term as President.
At 65, retired to Monticello .
At 80, helped President Monroe shape the Monroe Doctrine.
At 81, almost single-handedly created the University of Virginia , and served as its first president.
At 83, died on the 50th anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence, along with John A dams
Thomas Jefferson knew because he himself studied the previous failed attempts at government. He understood actual history, the nature of God, his laws and the nature of man. That happens to be way more than what most understand today. Jefferson really knew his stuff. A voice from the past to lead us in the future:
John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the white House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time. He made this statement: "This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe ." -- Thomas Jefferson
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."- Thomas Jefferson
"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world." -- Thomas Jefferson
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." -- Thomas Jefferson
"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government." -- Thomas Jefferson
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."-- Thomas Jefferson
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -- Thomas Jefferson
"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."-- Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.
If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
Think about it.......we've all grown far away from the likes of this ^ man. Both sides.........

Simply because you don`t like the Post, it therefore is ridiculous ? We or I should allow people to say whatever they like, even when untrue and horrible in it`s context, even though eternal souls are at stake, I should just go along to get along and not talk about my views ?---------------- if this post is foolish then it must be based upon something significantly more than your opinion, if or are you uncomfortable with talking about Christ, so be it ?------------ Did not Jesus himself say that Brother will turn against Brother, Father against Child ?----- didn`t he also say not too worry the World hated me before it hated you,------ but he also mentioned I am sending you out like sheep amongst wolves, therefore be as shrewd as snakes and innocent as doves,------- Go into all the World and preach the Gospel,-------- And Salvation is found in NO ONE else, for there is no other name under Heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved----------What on Earth during our lifetime is more important than our eternal souls salvation ?--------------- So if I rattle someone by mentioning or starting a post about Jesus, then so be it, it certainly wasn`t my intention to make someone angry, if anything it was to bring to attention what should be in the forefront of any`s mind, to question, doubt, investigate come to the conclusion of, I will not stop on anyones account of whether or not they may be offended by the Gospel,------------ if you do not like it or find it ridiculous then just move on, and I don`t say that to be offensive, nevertheless if you have an opinion by all means share it, which you have, but do not think I won`t share mine as well,--------- my true intention is to help if I can bring someone to the gift & understanding that God has given then I did well,----------- if I went about it improperly I apologize, I am honing my skills, What Foxx said was awful IMO and there are dark powers that we must fight against and stand firmly against, and I also indicated I will do my best to pray for others.------------I do not nor attempt to know & or claim all the answers, but I sure as hell won`t stop asking questions or searching, nor back down

hmmm...my 20 year old college student came home for Thanksgiving and we were discussing our nation and our new president..
the subject got around to hand-outs, our welfare system..
my son in his exuberance of youth
said " I think anyone on welfare should have to use this bright colorful fake money so that eveyone in line knows what they are using and..they should only be allowed to buy the junk, generic foods and no name brands..that way they will be so ashamed they will not be on it anymore"
hmmm
"take care of the poor, the widowed, the orphaned my son?"
"ya but ma you know if the churches were doing their job the gov would not have to.."
"is the job of the church then my son? or the job of the people that make up that congregation to care for on another?"
"perhaps, my son what you are really getting at in a round about way..is that there is no longer any pride in a job well-done..in a man that works hard for a living and gets paid for it. Its a different mind set now from when my grandfather was a young man..tell me what were the hobos doing during the depression. Why were they on those trains?"
"to look for work..any work..digging ditches if that is what it takes to feed themselves or their families they left behind"
"those gov programs were put in to effect a long time ago with noble intentions..the problem that they they still exist and generations of people now raise their children and teach then not to earn a degree but instead how to milk the system"
we have become a nation of of the downtrodden in our dingy clothes standing in bread lines waiting for a handoutLast edited by latebloomingmom; 11-26-2012 at 07:58 PM.

Its ridiculous just because one person claiming to know what is in the heart or mind of another is ridiculous. You should work on your reading comprehension as my post which you have quoted was aimed only at corby's comment to Keltron, thus my use of the word POST rather then THREAD.
You have no choice, in this country all have the right to speak as they choose, so yes you should.
Just my opinion but you have to choose your battles, nobody listens if you cry wolf all the time and the conservative media like to point to every perceived slight no matter how small. IMO its not your job to convert anybody, but to be an example to all, and in this day if your example is of a person with skin so thin as to be almost nonexistent you'll simply push away those you are attempting to reach.
Further as I said earlier, God gave all free will, it is up to each to decide for themselves. This country gives all the freedom of speech, it is up to each to decide how to use/abuse it for themselves.
I think the constant outrage has the effect of reaching out with your hand and pushing, not pulling.I'm a sad little man

I generally do choose my battles, I am pretty consistent, and maybe you should brush up on your reading comprehension when I said I "Should I just go along to get along" ! What am I crying wolf about ?, It is quite apparent what Mr Foxx said and also I do not have the luxury as he does to express my differing opinion to him, If given the opportunity, trust me I would not have hesitated in the least bit ! I never once mentioned to censor anyones opinion and I did indicate that if I came on to strong it wasn`t my intention, I also mentioned I will not back down from expressing my opinion

Brother, sometimes it's just better to laugh than to cry! I know it's serious, but we've got to get through this *%&^ somehow. I'm opting for mind altering drugs, lots of them! Have you heard? When Obama now appears on any stage in 'official capacity,' they'll play "Hail to the Thief!"

IN on angry rant...
I think there are "news" shows by prominent religious members that repeadedly make comments that are; inexcusable and repugnant beyond my comprehension, it is not funny, it`s beyond the pale, this is reprehensible behavior from someone who has the public bully pulpit to espouse views such as that. I just can't be bothered to be offended... or I would be offended.... a lot.
Though I am sure you get just as angry, when atheists are insulted.

Thomas, if you don't believe in religion at all, then why are you quoting the Bible all the time? I'm not being snide, I'd simply like to know. (This is in response to post #47--yours--so unless I missed something it sounds pretty religious to me. And please, break up your wall of text. Even enlarging the letters on the screen it hurts my poor wittle eyes.)
If you're pissed at Foxx, well, get pissed, have your say, but every time you write something in it sounds extremely defensive and antagonistic. To make myself clear, there are others out there who don't believe in JC or any religion and by constantly bringing up Biblical quotes you remind me more of an intolerant Ian Paisley than someone who's interested in logical discourse."Don't call me Miss Kitty. Just...don't."--Catnip. Check out the Catnip Trilogy on Amazon.com

Within the past few days, PRAVDA called Obama a Communist. Conservatives have called him a Communist for the past 5 years. The media and popular culture called us "racists" for pointing out his economic philosophy.
Communists promised they would take us over from within. They took control of the State run education system. They took over much of Hollywood. They are the decision makers in almost all of the largest news outlets.
I love the Jefferson history posted above. In the past couple of decades, those facts about that great man have been buried, and he has been discredited as a slave owner, a racist, and a rich one percenter. You don't think that's done for a reason?
Another one of America's Founders, Ben Franklin promised that as soon as the People can vote themselves money from the public treasury, the Republic is lost.
You can call that Jamie Foxx bit just some Comedian saying his joke or whatever, but it IS part of a larger movement. The destruction of the Constitutional United States of America, from within.Envy is ignorance. Imitation is suicide.
