Should I be adding salt to my food?

    Here is my current diet:

I currently take B Complex and Vitamin D3 to supplement what I am missing; my question is: Do I need to be adding salt to my food even though there is apparently enough salt naturally in the food?

Also, does anyone have any tips to make red onions taste better? What spices, etc.

    Thank you

    23 egg whites?!?!?!

If you want to add salt for taste, go for it. As for red onions, most of the time I use them is in their raw form diced very small for a little bite of spice they can add. Sweet onions may be more appealing and can be caramelized for some tasty goodness!

Sodium is another big debate. But from what I've researched, you can pretty much salt foods normally, as long as you keep it consistent.

When you intake absolutely no sodium whatsoever, and then have foods, or add a bunch of sodium to your meal, your body will retain water, because its not used to that level of sodium. It may take your body a day or two to get rid of the extra salt.
So basically use salt, just be fairly constant with the amount you ingest.
    Hope that helped.

Thanks, can you be a little more clear? I understand I can salt foods normally if I keep it consistent. But do I have to in order to achieve optimal body function? I've been feeling tired lately despite this ridiculously healthy diet...even though its probably me doing too much cardio and not getting enough sleep.

Seems like you're close to your answer yourself.

You're hitting your macro and micro goals fine, and your sodium intake is perfectly normal and shouldn't be the cause of any issue worth noting.

Excess deficits or surpluses of sodium may have effects on your physical ability, but for you case I doubt so. Try getting more sleep in, that should do wonders!

From what I've gathered salt is ok as long as it's consistent. If it bothers you try using Ms Dash salt free seasonings. Tons of great flavors.
