You know, man I thought we would get a lot more. We got about 7 inches while I was in Texas last week and another dusting over the weekend but most melted. Then we had about 2-2 1/2 last night and they called for more this morning but no dice so far.
Maybe it picked up steam? I saw a comment about the snow on my cousin's ********; she lives in DeWitt as well.678/424/700 - USPA Raw International Elite 220

Do any of you -x-ers do any public speaking? Being in sales, I do it all the time with no issues. 5 people or a couple of hundred, its all the same.
The only time it gets a bit nerve wracking is once a year for my regional sales meeting where I have to present my territory business plan to all the VPs and my region. My VP of sales loves to find slight inconsistencies in our plans. Basically, ball bust on things than make no difference.
I've got 60 powerpoint charts to present. And I end up prepping like I'm going in for a job interview. Cover my ass for any and all questions. My time allotted for the presentation is 90 min. Four yrs ago, I went a full 5.5 hrs over two days. Obviously, my angus was far from peppered. You've got to love bosses that constantly search for the soft under belly! Lol.
My presentation is a week from today.Men's Physique IFBB Pro

-x-er that does public speaking chekcing in. I work as an Internal Wholesaler for a large insuramce company and I know the exact feels you're talking about, man! I presented to a $170M retirement opportunity last fall where we sold the business but the presentation prep was ridiculous. I practiced for nearly 3 weeks prior to the trip. Once we were in teh city of teh client, we spent another 6 hours prepping in the hotel the night before and guess what...the Sales Rep torn everything apart, said it wasn't right, etc. My team and I went in the next day and presented what we practiced and nailed.
The meeting was 6 hours of piece by piece presentation. The presentation was more of conversation which always seems to go far better then people acting like robots.
Good luck my brather!678/424/700 - USPA Raw International Elite 220

100% on creating conversation. Prepping is never how the actual presentation goes simply because you can't re-create the conversation. Nothing worse than standing and talking for an hour with no one chiming in. I do everything in my power to create a conversation with my audience. If they don't volunteer to speak, I will start asking them queations to get them involved.

^^ you guys should become lecturers, teach my profs a thing or two about speaking. nothing is worse than monotonous reading straight from a slideshow

You have woods by you? Strong country lifestyle.
I have a similar but different problem, I am very comfortable in front of clients and upper management - however, I really struggle talking in front of my peers as a group.
Only thing I can think of as a reason why is I hate when upper management has me present things to them and I feel like I am coming off like some "I am better than you douche". I have even lately toyed with taking a public speaking class to try and resolve the issue.
For your situation, I am not sure what advice to offer besides to be as prepared as possible, whenever I do my yearly "business reviews" I probably spend 100 hours putting it together and going over it thinking of questions that could be asked or comments that could be made. Good luck!12-5-23

This is actually very normal. The people that you present in front of are not usually experts on what you're talking about...you are! This means you get that alpha feel and get up there and crush, dance, respond on your toes. When it's peers, we get scared or nervous because the people we are talking to know as much and in some cases, more. The confidence dips. If there is one area I struggle with it's this; especially in small groups.

So true. No one knows my products or industry better than me. I can totally take a "come at me bro" attitude because no one will trip me up.
This regional meeting really isn't all that bad. I just have to know going into it, the bosses are there to try and trip me up. Thankfully, I've covered everything they've ever thrown at me. The one that took 5.5 hrs was my own doing. I presented my plan in a way that no one had ever done it. It opened up a ton of good questions because they were interested in the details I put into it.
This year might be similar because two of my plans are proposals that yield zero $ for 2013. Once again, its a first for any rep to try.Men's Physique IFBB Pro
