I will probably seem really stupid... But here is a few simple questions I would appreciate since I am new to this:
I got told I need to cut, and after reading what cutting is i totally agree. I have been reading up on the topic, I now know what cutting is.. But how do you do cutting?
Ok then my next questions is:
When cutting should I drink the protein shakes?
(The one I have is 550 Calories a serving, but has 54grams of protein)

Would these be some good goals by the end of the year?
Deadlift: Current 245x5, Goal 315x5
Squat: Current 175x5, Goal 225x5
DB Bench: Current 55x5, Goal 85x5
I'm on Layne Norton's Phat. Hence why I chose DB bench instead of normal BB Bench
Also
I'm starting to do deficit deads because I'm weak off the floor. How much weight should I be doing? (55%, 65% etc) How many reps should I be doing? And how fast should I be doing it?Last edited by MrWaddles; 01-09-2013 at 08:51 PM.

I'm just wondering which is better between the Grecian Ideal or the Steve Reeves Ideal. Which of these ideals are more applicable for the heavyweight bodybuilders? I'm just curious if bodybuilders like Alexey Lesukov, Jay Cutler, Markus Ruhl and Dexter Jackson follow either of these body ideals or do they use another body calculator.

Hello people,
I'm 19 and have been using the gym for about 2 years. Not got much muscle at all though.
Should I follow one of the plans on here or do my own thing?

About 11% I'd say
If you aren't getting very good results from your current routine, then sure it would be a good idea to try out one of the stickied routines. Make sure it fits your goals and experience level. Also remember nutrition is very important for strength and muscle gains as well, might want to take a look at the stickies in the nutrition section if you haven't already

Depends on your goals. I stay away from full body workouts. You want to work out muscles that work together. For example, when you're working your chest, you're triceps are your secondary worked muscle. Therefore, on chest days, I will also work triceps. Back - biceps, shoulders - traps, etc.

I'm 19 as well. I haven't quite done as much working out as you have (actually no where near close). I just started Steve Cook`s Big Man on Campus routine on monday and so far love it. Depending on your goals, and what kind of time and timeline you have, I would look into that one, or something here on BodyBuilding.com. After experience (I know you have 2 years, but you say you have very little muscle) you may want to create your own routine, targeting what you`d like, working towards your goals.

i would finish one routine then jump on to the next. If you hit one body part at a time and hit it good, you will have more progress than jumping to two or more different exercises at a time. Also if you are jumping on to different excersises your body wont get the full potential of muscle growth as it would cool down before it starts to break it self down and rebuild bigger. Basically its a waste of time.

This is a video released yesterday that changes the way I think about cutting. Do you agree with it?
Do you agree that teens can gain muscle and lose fat at maintenance? (at a slower rate)
This guy is incredibly knowledgeable and I trust him.

I need some advice on my squat stance. I'm 191 cm (6 foot 3) and have difficulties with getting low enough.
I've lifted for a month and only ever got down to 2-4+ inches about parallel, but for the last week I tried changing my stance from an inch wider than shoulder width to maybe 7 inches on each side. I had my feet at an angle (so toes pointed out to the sides, not forward) and had my knees follow. I can now get low enough, unless I push my butt out then I only get as low as before. However, my knees will hurt for the rest of the day after lifting.
SO I need to know how bad I'm doing.
Oh yah, and what about the back? Am I supposed to lower it (obviously not bend it) or should I refrain from doing this?Last edited by Borum; 01-11-2013 at 12:25 PM.

So I have a couple questions. I've been doing Baby Lovers SS 4x per week and doing a Ab workout and Back workout seperately 2 other days. I'm not getting Ab results I want...I want to have abs being show without flexing. What's the best Ab routine to get this do you think? Also, would you guys say being 5 '9 and weighing 153 Lbs is too light? I look live I've lost weight the last few weeks but the scale says I weigh more than I used to.
