    Locking out on military press- Beneficial for hypertrophy?

    Hey guys, i've tried the search function but can't seem to find anything useful.

    Is it necessary to lockout on Military press for maximum shoulder development? Or can I stop short of lockout and still make the same gains?

    Based on the Rippetoe advice for overhead press, he says locking out the shoulders at the top helps avoid hurting the shoulders. From hypertrophy perspective, likely doesn't matter, but from a safety perspective, getting that shoulder push to straighten the arms is a good idea.
