All the Dorian haters in this thread......laughable.
The guy was near perfect in his competetive career.....retiring only due to injuries. Nothing definite about what might have happened if he stayed. He was dominant.....no arguing that.
Also.....regarding Dave henry.....only knock on him is he needs more leg mass. That's it. Biceps are just fine.

1992 Mr. Olympia 2nd place - Kevin Levrone; 1993 Mr. Olympia 2nd place - Flex Wheeler; 1994 Mr. Olympia 2nd place - Shawn Ray; 1995 Mr. Olympia 2nd place - Kevin Levrone; 1996 Mr. Olympia 2nd place - Shawn Ray; 1997 Mr. Olympia 2nd place - Nasser El Sonbaty
Shawn Ray arguably had the most complete, balanced, proportioned and symmetrical physique of all time. He should have won the 1996 Sandow. Too bad Shawn competed in the most competitive era in bodybuilding - the '90s. His physique is better than Dexter Jackson's in my opinion, and Dexter Jackson has one Sandow in his collection.Last edited by Tony_Ulibarri; 11-25-2012 at 10:00 AM.

If Arnold Schwarzenegger is the heart of bodybuilding, Joe Weider is the soul. If Arnold Schwarzenegger is the king of bodybuilding, Joe Weider is the God.
Been into bodybuilding since 1991, non-stop and constant.
I looked 10 years younger for my age the day I turned 33. The pattern remains the same every year. But I want to look 80 like Sean Connery.
I practice science, art, sport and philosophy, therefore, I'm a bodybuilder.

Gay for Yates? Because someone has an opinion other than some on here makes them gay for someome? Nevermind....looking at the ages on here and understand.
Go on and waste your breath. I'm sure 6-time Mr. O loses no sleep over anything.
Also.....I am a huge Ray fan and he was my favorite growing up. I still do not think he ever beat Dorian. Put them side by side and he gets outmassed and out conditioned.

Dorian probably has the biggest and freakiest lats in the history of the sport. I'm a fan of the Yates' physique and the man also and I think despite of his biceps injury he dominated the lineup in every Olympia contest he entered on sheer size and freakiness. The Dorian look that was hard, dense and grainy was almost like unprecedented in the sport. He redefined bodybuilding during that era or gave new meaning to the word mass monster. And Dorian had relatively small waist and hips to complement his size unlike Jay Cutler. And to add more, Yates was not known for being genetically superior like Ronnie Coleman. That made him a truly great champion!

Shawn Ray needed greater width to be what you have said.
Like you said Yates had a density that the others on stage did not, he looks like he is calved out of stone whilst Shawn Ray would be chisled out of strctural ply wood.
Once the athletes trn around is game over, Yates dominated in size, shape and condition.
Yates dominated from the back check the footage @3.38, half the side of Yates back is near as big as the whole of Rays back and Yates looks the better conditioned athlete. Also look how good the Yates calves are.TEAM WOLF + TEAM KAI +TEAM CEDRIC + TEAM ROMGLE - TEAM RAMY - TEAM FAIR JUDGING

strong loctus' law ITT. can we get some shawn/dorian comparisons? while i don't dispute his victories i highly doubt dorian was more conditioned than shawn.
