Ronnie recently came to my country, Singapore, and one of the supplement companies here interviewed him.
Thought I would share this part of the interview, which to me was the more interesting one,
" Xue En: Yea, that’s true. There is some tough competition but Shawn definitely stood out this year with his size and conditioning. Yet Jay Cutler is coming back next year where he didn’t compete this year due to an injury. What are the chances that Shawn can beat all the other pros?
Ronnie Coleman: Cutler is old. (laughs) He’s just trying to come back so that he can promote his new line of products. It’s just a marketing move. He ain’t winning because he’s already 40 years old. He has had his time and the one thing about bodybuilding is that you can’t turn back the hands of time once your body has exceeded a certain level and he has maxed out his weight gain, his shape, his symmetry and his cell receptors. He can’t rebuild his cell receptors. It’s not like a car or a machine where you can just change the old parts and get it running as good as new again. It is just pretty much the same old body doing the same old thing and it gets weaker and weaker. Your body produces a lot less testosterone each and every single year no matter who you are. We are all human, nobody is super human. He’s basically just coming back because of his supplement line. That was what he was telling me. He would definitely not be able to compete with Phil and Kai who are both in their thirties. And I’m definitely going to take Shawn’s body to another level. I know exactly what is needed to do that. My money is definitely on Shawn. "
Interesting that he would talk about receptors so candidly.

Jay's not that old. He's 39, while Shawn and Kai are both 37.
We're dodging more ninjitsu attacks than Flex Wheeler. We're ducking more bullets than George Farah. We're facing more death than a kid leg pressing at Branch Warren's gym.
You can't stop us. You can't hold us back.

heh...Correct me if I am wrong, but Ronnie won 2 of his O's in his 40's, (both at 40 and 41)...40, ironically, being the same age Jay will be come 2013 Olympia.
As a side not, Kai is also only 2 years younger than Jay, Kai will be 38 for the 2013 O and Jay will have just turned 40 in August for the September 2013 O. Heath I get, he is younger but Kai and Jay are basically in the same realm age wise.
I am definitely not counting Jay out. He has had a year off to rest and isn't/wasn't looking beaten up at his last O imho - he still gave Phil a run with the torn bicep and all.
It's simple, Jay will go with the mass game because he won't and can't beat Heath or Kai at a lighter conditioned weight. Jay has the freaky mass/width on his side as something Heath and Kai cannot obtain, at least not by Sep 2013, so if Jay comes in large and diced, he has a legitimate shot imho.Last edited by Canuck77; 11-21-2012 at 10:45 PM.

Jay's never winning another O. Top 3 at best (he comes in and amazes everyone that he looks the way he does).

6 daughters? Wasn't there a lady on here posting saying that Ronnie is the father to her son? She posted pics of Ronnie at his football games and graduation.

i really hope that on the way with ronnie helping shawn his waist doesn't blow up because of some of ronnie's advice. not hating on ronnie i just want shawn to keep his streamlined physique.
Kai Greene, Phil Heath, Cedric McMillan, Lionel Beyeke, Shawn Rhoden

so many lols in this thread, and so many good posts.
doesn't anyone else think Rhoden is too old to advance to that "next level" Ronnie is referring to? he may get one or two olympias under his belt but anything more than that seems unrealistic, the dudes 38 and i can't see him beating Heath or Kai any time soonCourage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgement that something is more important than fear; The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all.

this
which is why i believe ronnie kept improving at 40, 41. even at 42 yrs old he looked freakier except for his injured lat... b/c he ran everywhere until dobson got him a bike in his late 20s. same reason kai will keep improving for a while. same reason tony freeman is still relevant at almost 50.
