Hey,
I recently started going gym again in an attempt to put on some mass however I have put on 4kgs in just over a week!! Cant figure out whether Im going to end up looking like Jean Claude van Damme or Mr Blooby. Is this something I should be worried about. I cant see the point of putting on this much weight if its mainly fat. My goal was to put on 13kg which i thought would take 9-10 months, at this rate ill do it in just over 3 weeks.
Ive been eating pretty much like normal just thrown in a couple of extra chicken breasts a day (though admittedly breaded ones), 2 servings of reflex instant mass (though only 3 scoops per serving not the recommended 5), a Yazoo chocolate milk and a pack or two of cashew nuts (was told they are good for bulking).
Should i lower my calorie intake? How the hell do i know if im putting on fat or muscle? Is this normal?!
I am pretty thin 75.5 Kg now at 6 foot (1m 84cm) and ive been doing a mainly compound routine.
Sorry if this is a bit of a newbie type of question but i dont profess to be an expert in nutrition (or anything else really).
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

[QUOTE=snorkelman;981586633]what is your calorie intake?
To be honest i have no idea what my calorie intake is. I have been eating pretty much like I normally would (I always east quiet healthily) but have added the instant mass shake, yazoo milkshake and pack of cashew nuts daily. I guess I need to read into all this more. I have no idea how much protein or carbs i need daily even if my ignorance seems to disgust some on this forum.
Thanks for the genuine replies.
