His GnP is also more dangerous than Koscheck's, if he secures a takedown. I'm not sure how deep he carries his power into fights though and his cardio seems worse than Koscheck's to me.
I'd like to get a prop bet on GSP not getting taken down. Hendricks is not the guy to put him on his back.

I think one round of being underneath GSP will drain his gas tank enough so that he's in trouble. I'd say less than 5% chance that a takedown is landed for Hendricks.

Hendricks is on a five fight win streak, Diaz just lost his last fight (which was a title fight). It isn't fair that Hendricks has to go through Nick, and it certainly isn't fair for Nick to get a #1 contender match after he had just blown his most recent opportunity.
i know its not fair but that waiting thing rly blows things, make them fight more often. for all we know next ww belt fight could be in like 6-8 months. i dont say that Diaz deserves belt chance before Hendricks, but dont let Hendricks w8, make him fight, gsp also,

B) Before you argue how Hendricks' wrestling credentials outshine GSP's, remember that his offensive wrestling is great, but defensively I'm not convinced he's going to be able to keep the Canadian blanket from laying on him.

Interesting, i don't think diaz deserves a shot at all right now. His hype came from beating fat gassed bj. He lost to condit because condit moved, nick looks impressive when his opponent stays stationary against the cage but wil not cut off the.octagon, unless asking his opponent not to move works then he most likely wont be able to t off on anyone. If he a beat condit, hendricks, kosh, fitch, or rory give him a shot. However, i think all those guys would be favored against him. Kosh might be the only one dumb enough to stand still but the others would probably move more then a heavy bag.
I do agree hendricks shouldn't be allowed to wait, imo no one should be allowed to and if you choose to you should lose your number one contender spot if some active wins a couple top 10 fighs impressively while you sit by
As far as hendricks vs gsp, id like to see it just because of hendricks finishing ability. That said gsp would be a large favorite. Gaps striking is good enough to that big left hand and when hendricks starts headhunting gsp would take him down at will. Putting out kampmann was impressive but says little about his chances against gsp, kampann has never had good striking defense and wrestling would be the deciding factor anyway.

Stopped reading. If you can't make an argument without this pathetic attempt to qualify wins then don't make one.

huh? Ok so beating matt brown should get someone a title shot? No, quality of win matters, and even if for some reason you dont think so then at least consider winning matters and he lost his last fight.

in lots of peoples opinions including that of joe rogan he beat condit, so lets not all act like condit stormed through him and his hype should be derailed. also beating bj penn should be considerd a good win for anyone, and by your own logic you failed to see that. bj drew with fitch and then you claim beating fitch gets you a title shot. surely bj is on his level because he drew with him?

But he did not beat condit, I think it was close enough to merit a rematch but its his own fault ,he shouldve made it more convincing. beating bj is impressive but bjs only win at ww recently was hughes. None of what you have said makes diaz more deserving of a title shot than hendricks who's on a 5 fight winning steak in the ufc ww division which is the whole point of this debate. Bottom line, he needs a win.
