Can GSP survive the H-Bomb v2.0?
25 minutes is a lot of time for Hendricks to catch GSP with something. GSP did show he could take a hit and come back in the Condit fight but gawddamn Hendricks barely grazed Kampmann's chin and he nearly killed him.

A) Hendricks is essentially an evolved version of Josh Koscheck. GSP would easily outwork him on the feet. Short of slipping up and getting caught doing something stupid, there's no reason to think Hendricks is going to put Georges on blast.
B) Before you argue how Hendricks' wrestling credentials outshine GSP's, remember that his offensive wrestling is great, but defensively I'm not convinced he's going to be able to keep the Canadian blanket from laying on him.

All I Need Is My Belt..
Meh.. He's got a chance to land it but a small one.
He wasn't that impressive in split decisions against Koscheck or Pierce and Story smothered him. I can see GSP closing the distance and taking him down quickly.
-
Intense as fuk bro
It would be GSP/Kos version 2. GSP would stay outside and just pick him apart and then land a take down or two per round and repeat until decision.

It would look like the Koscheck fight, except Kos has better wrestling than Hendricks.

That's about all Hendricks has as a chance against GSP is to land a punch, if he can't land one flush and put GSP out, GSP by points decision and smothering Hendricks on the ground.
Hendricks hits hard as hell though, his power is pretty scary.

I think that GSP would be silly to spend any time on the feet with Henricks TBH.
You don't give a puncher "a puncher's chance".
I think the most likely scenario would be another 5-rnd decision win via GSP wrestlefuk.

Hendricks v Diaz sounds like a better match up to me actually.

I can't see Hendricks being as good as Condit on the ground, GSP could definitely pass his guard and maybe sub Hendricks.

Do you have any interest in seeing any GSP fights at WW?
Hendricks, on paper anyway, is one of the guys most likely to dethrone GSP. He's not a favorite, but he's got the wrestling to succeed offensively or defensively and he hits like a mack truck.

I think condit's head kick is too fresh in people's memory but the only reason why it connected was because it came out of nowhere, I don't think GSP is likely to eat any shots straight like that.
How is Hendrick's bjj game?

Rocco, I agree that he's not the favorite, but style-wise, I also agree he matches up fairly well.

Is this real life?
Where is nick diaz in ww belt story? As far as i know hendricks-diaz should be for #1 spot. If i were Dana i would force Hendricks to fight not to w8 for GSP. I know Diaz lost to Condit but i would love to see Diaz-Hendricks, Diaz-gsp rather than Gsp-hendricks. Hell i would rather watch Koschek-Diaz than gsp-hendricks.

I don't think that is fair at all. Hendricks has a legit winning streak, and has beaten real contenders. He's knocked out Kampman and Fitch, won a close decision against Koscheck.
Hendricks is on a five fight win streak, Diaz just lost his last fight (which was a title fight). It isn't fair that Hendricks has to go through Nick, and it certainly isn't fair for Nick to get a #1 contender match after he had just blown his most recent opportunity.

koscheck is just a less talented version of gsp. hendricks barely edged him out. he has 1 and only 1 chance against gsp, land the KO shot before he gets taken down. That's pretty much the only chance anyone at 170 has against him as long as remains healthy.

The ufc isn't 'fair'... diaz has a much bigger following than hendricks, and will sell more PPVs. if gsp doesn't coward out of the anderson fight then hendricks has to fight someone else before he gets his shot. Might as well be diaz, who has shown a weakness in his chin.. KO'ing diaz would rocket launch hendrick's popularity/status.

I may need to re-watch the fight, but GSP--while looking fantastic--seemed more hittable to me in that fight. His defensive movement didn't look as sharp at it had previously.
And Hendricks isn't going to beat GSP off his back. Considering the quality of grapplers GSP has controlled and passed when he gets top position, it's very doubtful Hendricks would be able have much success if GSP puts him down.

Aside from not answering any of my questions, that's also a weak mma math point. He's an easy counter for you: Anderson had a very tough time beating Chael. Maia steamrolled Sonnen when they fought. Anderson handily trounced Maia. Styles make fights. Hendricks and Koscheck aren't as drastically different as Maia and Sonnen, but they are hardly the same guy, and the one area Koscheck did well vs. GSP in their 2nd fight, despie having a broken orbital bone, was in the wrestling aspect. Credentials wise, Hendricks is as good in that area as Koscheck.
I'm just guessing you don't want to see anymore GSP fights at 170 (unless Anderson could make that big of a cut.)

Like I said, GSP is the favorite imo. But Hendricks has a lot more power than Koscheck. Technically, he's not that skilled as a striker, but he doesn't telegraph his power hand (left as opposed to Koscheck's right) as much as Koscheck. His GnP is also more dangerous than Koscheck's, if he secures a takedown. I'm not sure how deep he carries his power into fights though and his cardio seems worse than Koscheck's to me.

GSP sub someone? Surely you meant to say that GSP will lay on him for 5 rounds.
