ERGOGENIC: a Word that is tossed around, but some still don't understand....

I know that there are some that see this word, but don't fully understand just what it means....

for clarification, here is a quote from Wiki:

Ergogenic aids are any external influences that can be determined to enhance performance in high-intensity exercises. These include mechanical aids (such as ergogenic fabrics), pharmacological aids, physiological aids, nutritional aids (sports supplements), and psychological aids.

conceptually: ergogenic aids of any sort enable or rather , facilitate you , to POSSIBLY exert more work during training, and consequently, more time under tension and other variables that signal the human body to overcompensate, and thus, build more lean tissue.

I say "POSSIBLY", because, although it may now give you the capability of doing more, you still have to "push yourself", however, what you may find now, is that when you do push yourself, you WILL get that extra rep or two, or set or two, or weight goal or two.

The ASSUMPTION of ergogenic aids is that after this qualitative training session YOU ARE NOW DOING EVERYTHING ELSE CORRECT: meaning: Proper rest and nutrition.

doing MORE, and then giving the body LESS of what it needs to respond properly, to the "more", is what leads eventually, to over training.

I thought of putting up this thread after a preceding thread by ID about Beta Alanine.....
Lift as MUCH as you can, for as MANY reps as you can,
while in complete control of the exercise.
