No spotters for bench.. unless you asked for them...
They gave away my trophy to some phuck i destroyed by 600 pounds...
I was crowned best lifter. lbs lifted vs bodyweight.
Overall - I'm happy with my lifts. Other than that - I will not be competing with these guys again. Like is said in the fam page - this was a very small meet. About 14 lifters where about 7 of them were females.
AND NOTICE THE PRESS COMMAND ON MY SECOND ATTEMPT??
edit: you might want to mute it for the deadlifts - my girlfriend likes to scream as she records.

Great lifting! Apparently they were only looking for a partial rep on your 2nd bench? haha. Sorry about your experience with that organization - it sounded like a sort of unorganized and strangely run meet, just what was needed to make the pl'ing crowd love crossfit even more, right But huge congrats on best lifter, and for schooling people by like 600 pounds. Your lifting looked great, and your gf is amazing, that was some fantastic cheering!

They destroy the technique but at least they don't change the rules in USAW meets. Powerlifting meets being ran by xfitters are always destroyed. brb USAPL but only raw, brb no spotters on bench, brb have guys who have never lifted weights before run the platform, brb over half of the meet gets a wilks under 300 because its all crossfitters

First off, great job.
Second. After reading your experience, I'm embarrassed to even say that I'm a crossfitter, let alone an affiliate owner who uses uses a powerlifting program as the base strength program. Sorry they messed that up like that. If they didn't know what they were doing, they should of had some help running it. I'm getting tired of reading stuff like this, which makes the decent crossfitters look bad.

Good job op excellent performance.
Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

FC runs small full power lifting meets sanctioned by WFSS (Women's Federation of Strength Sports) most meets have about 50% females.
Alex O. - Thanks again to you and the rest of the crew that put on the Powerlifting meet this past weekend. I had a great time, and it was a great feeling to set a personal record in all three lifts. Even more so that I was encouraged and cheered on to break that 500lb barrier that I've been working towards for a long time.
Big George M. (455 raw Bench) - Thanks so much mike! I gotta tell you, i have been around gyms a long time, and never have i met a nicer, more supportive, and positive group of people than yourself and your membership. An honest and true testament to the quality of your training. I left fitness crossing today on top of the world. You and your people played a big part in that! Please be sure to relay this message to them.

Hey I wasn't there so I can't pass opinion on it, but just from the notes and for future reference - spotters aren't optional on any bench press any time any where in any competition. Period. Lots of stuff can go wrong. Forearms snap. Tendons go. Crap just happens and there is no time to go running over to help.
