Will have to try the Moose Tracks, PBB, and Jacked Up Tennssee Toffee. Kettle Crunch sounds awesome it's too bad they nixed it. I also picked up some of the Happy Camper as a secondary pint. Now that I know they don't skimp on their pints, I'll definitely be frequenting this store! Moving to your side of town soon; epic food trips will commence. I vote for multiple quesadillas and beer at the WAB!

Also if you know what shop you're going to you can use the locator to go to the shops site and it should show what flavors they offer by the scoop http://www.benjerry.com/scoop-shops/scoop-shop-locator
They could also have some of the recently discontinued flavors in pints in their freezer but thats about it that you'll find for flavors no longer in rotation.

Posted this in the Nutrition forum and probably should have just dropped it this thread instead since it has fallen off the map without any responses (and not gonna bump).
For you homemade ice cream makers, I am going to make 'Cookies and Cream' tomorrow or Friday, and have been scouring recipes online the past few days. Found some distinctly different recipes, which I wasn't expecting. For those who make their own, or who have made this, I have a couple questions:
- Do you use eggs in yours? I decided that if I do use eggs it would just be the yolks, but some recipes don't use them at all...just curious.
- Definitely going with whole milk, heavy cream, and sugar, but the ratios seem to range quite a bit here. Anyone have a 'go to' ratio? 2 cups of heavy cream seems to be consistent across the board, but with that amount anything between 1 and 2 cups of milk is used, and anywhere from 1/2 cup to 1 cup of sugar...kind of a big difference in the grand scheme of things when you're only making a quart or two.
- Vanilla extract, real vanilla bean, or both? I am leaning towards both. This is more of a preference thing I think, but I assume real vanilla bean would give it more of the authentic taste I'm looking for.
NOT looking for any low fat, low carb, or low sugar recipes. When I make ice cream, I make ice cream, so whatever yields the best flavor is my preference. I know in the end this is just a good vanilla ice cream with chocolate sandwich cookies in it, but I've only made 4 batches of ice cream since getting my ice cream maker, and they were fairly basic (Dutch Chocolate, Berry Frozen Yogurt, Strawberry, and PB Cups). The PB cups last weekend was my first "creative" batch, and it turned out 100 times better than I expected, so I think I can handle a little vanilla with cookies in it, just looking for some advice/suggestions.
Thanks!

My base is typically:
1.5 cups half and half
1.5 cups low fat milk
1/2 cup sugar
2tbsp corn syrup
3 tbsp cream cheese
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp salt
Quite low on cream as you can see, perhaps more of a gelato, but I am easy as the stuff is scoopable straight from the freezer.
I have several types of vanilla I use, including vanilla bean paste (Madagascar), vanilla bean seeds, and extract. The best extract I've found so far is the Xel-ha stuff from Mexico, but I'd love to source the Ugandan stuff Jeni uses. Need to also try thewww.GetDS.com

Nice pick-up bambam.. This is my favorite Blue Bell flavor as well, with Christmas Cookies right behind it! They are easily the best flavors offered by them that I've had thus far..
The bolded flavors are on my "to try" list so I'm glad to see that you have them up in/near your top 5 flavors! I was skeptical about Lemon Bliss, but looks like I'm going to have to give it a shot.. Dessert Trio just sounds incredible to me!
^^^This!!! BUT not as good as Gingerbread House.. You should definitely give that a scoop if you can find it!
Italian Cream Cake is on my list to try as well..

You won't find the cookie dough in PA. Wawa carries only four flavors... The two you mentioned, Strawberry Rhubarb and CKC. Shocked they only had two as every single time I check different Wawa locations, they always have all four in stock.
Edit: the Tons of Brownies is def worth picking up... it's amazing.

just modification to the jeni recipe I've made is
Base Cream cheese ice cream (jenni’s style)
2 cups 2% milk
2 ounces (3 tablespoons) cream cheese, softened
pinch fine sea salt
1 1/4 cups half and half (set aside 1/4 cup to mix with the corn starch)
5 teaspoons cornstarch
2/3 cup xylitol
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1tsp of zanthan gum
I personally dont like using eggs yolks but my g/f perfers the egg yolks while i like the cream cheese approach.
just a few things to think about you can add a mashed up banana and it will really thicken up the mixture as well. also read this

So... On my travels today walking I made a deliberate detour to whole foods well away from where I was originally as the flavor locator said it stocked Steve's so I figured I could cross that one flavor I had on my "America to eat ice cream list". I get there and they have 6 flavors but no Sunday morning
Instead I decided to finally try a Greek yoghurt B&J's since I've wanted to and I love tart flavors and Greek yoghurt
I loved it, a solid B on my list of flavors I've had so far which consist of the "popular/big rated" flavors from most brands.
The tartness with the faint banana tasting Greek yoghurt was very good by itself and then the solid frozen PB swirls throughout made it very enjoyable all together, or great with the PB just alone.
This really makes me want to try other Greek yoghurt flavors or other brand ones if they are just as good or better so feel free to chime in.
