    Talenti Tahitan Vanilla Bean

In short, pretty solid. Worth the try but not good enough to get again. 7.6/10

Thinking of picking up some of their fruit flavors, namely Roman Raspberry, Blood Orange, and Mango. Anyone tried those flavors?

Those are all sorbets, not gelato. I think only their cherry, black raspberry and their new strawberry are fruit gelato.

I've posted about High Road's sorbets in here but ultimately don't think anyone else bothers with them.

Decent cookie dough pieces and chocolate chips in one of the best bases going. Not much else to report. If you like cookie dough ice cream you will love this.

Probably very good as far as sorbets go. But getting excited about sorbets, to me, is like getting excited to wait in line for something.

Finished off a pint of Haagen Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter last night. After eating Talenti's CPBC and B&J's Peanut Butter World I wasn't impressed at all with the HD. Not even in the same league. I need to rescoop the Talenti and do a side by side comparison with Peanut Butter World to see which one takes 1st place. I would have said Talenti but PBW was amazing and I haven't had Talenti CPBC in months.

I totally agree, vanilla is a little lacking but the pb swirl is awesome. Thinking about digging into some Saturday or Sunday night.

This is one of the reasons I reserved why I said I was reserving judgement. I finished the pint, but was still in two minds. I am prepared to re-buy to double check, but I was ultimately disappointed. The base seemed to overpower everything else in the pint.

Apologies in advance for pic-quoting myself.

While on the subject of Graeter's, it looks like their newest LE is cherry chip: http://www.graeters.com/flavors.aspx

Also, yesterday EattoBlog posted up a review of some of their flavors. Doesn't seem like the blogger was too impressed (though they love Steve's if you check the blog archives): http://www.eattoblog.com/2013/01/graeters-ice-cream/

Found this while looking for red velvet pop tarts. Had looked for it months ago when I first saw it on the Breyer's website, but had no luck until this weekend.

It's sugary, it's sweet, and it does taste like birthday cake ice ice cream (ish, it is a FDD after all). At least it does eventually, the flavor onset is on a slight delay and I didn't get it until the second or third bite. This is likely due to the high overrun of the product.

The cake pieces are chewy like cookie dough, so I should dock points for that, but I quite like this texture.

Ultimately, however, it is lacking something on the back end. The thing that Turkey Hill's and Blue Bunny's similar offerings provide. Probably due to it's calorie content being 130kcals/serving and it's ability to stay immediately-scoopable even if left outside in Antarctica for a month.

Give this one a miss fellas.

Thanks for the mini-review! This flavor was not on the top of my list to try and I will definitely be passing it by now..
On another note, any luck with the pop tarts? I am striking out myself.. Hopefully they are still in distribution, and not the fact that any stores in my town aren't carrying them!

The red velvet poptarts are brand new so don't fret about missing out on them just yet. I've only seen one confirmation of them actually being on shelves (and that was a walmart, so not really a shocker). I've only looked for them properly once. I'll update when and where I find them if I strike lucky though.

dude its hilarious. I went into wal mart looking for them too but no luck...ended up leaving with the bday blast as well. I gave it a 7/10. defintiely thought it was missing a frosting swirl/ribbon and I wasnt a fan of the cake pieces, thought their texture and taste could have been way better... Slightly smoother than usual HD, and lower in fat. Clearly they are using a higher percentage of skim milk and egg yolks than usual, and I assume a lower amount of cream. but not completely a gelato mouthfeel to this. The flavor is great though, I am a big fan of black cherry.

Not ice cream but when I was at Publix earlier I noticed they now have Publix Premium Cookies. I almost bought the Moose Tracks version but put it back. There was also a Buckeye flavor, Butter Pecan, and a couple others.

Do you guys eat a pint of ice-cream in one sitting? or over the course of a few days? I find myself loving ice-cream too damn much to not eat the entire pint, so I eat it for my cheat day.

Anyways, if I can, looking for reviews on Ben and Jerrys Cinnamon Buns, if suggested will get.

There's over a billion reviews for cinnamon buns in this thread alone. Just do a quick search.

And yeah, most of us do smash the entire pint in one sitting - even on some of the high cal premium stuff.
