** Ice Cream Eating Now Official Thread **

I got an awesome xmas gift - a membership to an ice cream club. Every month I get shipped four pints based on the season from places I wouldn't otherwise be able to get those pints from. Thankfully, the first shipment came last week and I cracked open my first pint of a flavor I have never tried before: Blue Moon.

Gotta give Blommer's props, this stuff is silky smooth like gelato, but thick and rich. Hard to describe the flavor; I guess the best I could do would be to say it tastes like raspberry fruit loops? Either way, it is great stuff.

Lol, you're dog knows what's up. I always let my dog have my vanilla leftovers (or any flavor that doesn't have chocolate or nuts).

This is great, but a little light on the whiskey flavor than I was hoping for/expecting. Still, the Jeni's base is awesome so hard to complain.

I loved that flavor. I asked the Jeni rep, and they do put in real booze. The experience is nothing to blow your mind, though...at least for me.

OnSecondScoop kicked out a review of the new Breyers Birthday Blast cake flavor. Not so favorable a review, but I haven't agreed with most Breyers Blast review (I dig most of the Blast line).

Obviously the sea salt caramel flavor is intriguing, but none of the other flavors are the least bit exciting for me. I'll definitely scoop it, along with the vanilla bean, but I'm not expecting much. HD's caramel options never quite live up to my expectations, and I expect that to be the case here.

A while ago I found a pint of Jeni's The Buckeye State. I had extremely high expectations for this flavor, as I love anything with peanut butter and chocolate.



The flavor surprised me at first. I was expecting the normal, sweet peanut butter ice cream taste, but instead tasted something different. As someone has mentioned here before, it was more savory than sweet. It tastes more like peanuts than it does peanut butter. I certainly enjoyed this flavor, but I don't think I would pay $10 for another pint.

I also just came back from Wal-Mart and found TCBY Cookies and Cream. For 130 Calories per serving, I figured I could just go ahead and eat the whole pint now.



I can honestly say this is the best cookies and cream desert I've ever had. I would even say it's better than Ben & Jerry's Milk and Cookies. It's like eating Oreos in yogurt form. The base tastes like Oreo cream filling with grainy pieces of cookie in every single bite. If you have TCBY pints nearby, I recommend you go pick a few up. At 520 calories per pint, you will not be disappointed.

Oh yeah, it is great stuff. The kind of pint that I wish was a quart when I am at the bottom of it. But the whiskey flavor was definitely lacking.

This tastes like the best iced latte I've ever had. Coffee ice cream fans (and coffee fans alike) will dig this immensely.



That said, I am still a hug fan of Steve's NOLA iced coffee and donuts (donuts in ice cream, man!), and also of the B&J's flavor that escapes me right now as I like the combo of coffee and chocolate. I would probably list those two ahead of Jeni's because of this.

I tried Jeni's Brambleberry Crisp and the Buckeye State and I have to say, they aren't worth the calories. The base isn't as good as Haagen Daz and the mix-ins are not as good as Ben & Jerry's. I seriously regret blowing $20 on them.

Worth noting that he is not a big fan of cake batter flavors in general, nor of frozen dairy desserts, so this one was destined for a mediocre grade.

You should pick some up and review it for us so I can throw it on the site. Maybe a Steve's flavor as well since it's not easily obtainable in my area.
