My wife picked up some OCC in NJ and put it in a cooler with ice. The pint will have been in a thick and insulated cooler for around 5 hours with copious ice. I'm sure it will be at least somewhat soft if not 10-15% melted when it gets here. Do I eat it tonight or freeze for a later time? I prefer to save it for later this week.
Thoughts?My path to contest prep:

Seeing i live in canada i often make a trip to michigan and do the same thing, ice packs, ice and a cooler. Yestarday the ice cream was on the road for about 4 hours and wasnt actually to soft when i got back. I ate one last night and it was perfect (in the freezer for 4 hours from when i got home) and i have ate some days/weeks later and they all have tasted perfect.
So its all up to you i found OCC to im pumped lol"Voracious Overeaters Crew" (JasonDB) lol

I have transported ice cream in the middle of south GA/FL summer heat before for up to 3.5 hours and have had NO problems whatsoever.. It was somewhat soft upon arrival like you stated above but it also sounds like I didn't have near the amount of ice in my cooler as you do.. I think it will be just fun refreezing as long as you eat it later this week in one sitting.. I have found that I generally have problems when I open the pint and finish it over a matter of a week or two!
Definitely agree with you on this.. I'm currently trying all of the B&J flavors & therefore picked this pint up thinking it was just going to be meh but man oh man did it shock me! Second best cheesecake flavor behind strawberry cheesecake IMO..

You misunderstood me.
I <3 Talenti Sea Salt Caramel.
I just got a pint that was literally bad. Like, i mean BAD.
There was 3, yes 3, of the pieces of candy. Only 3 from what I saw. The base also tasted like, I dunno, like burnt caramel. It was a bad pint. What I meant was that I rated it lower because I judge on the pints I've had. SSC is amazing, the pint this morning, was not.
To me Talenti sea salt caramel tastes like a pure cream version of those Cowtails stick candy. i loved those things. They were literally my favorite candy, right with a Zero bar(Frozen).
But this pint... dude, I can't describe it. I threw it OUT. Like, it was terrible. I'm probably gonna have to buy it again because I know it wasn't Talenti on purpose. Heck, it could have been Whole foods fault. But I kid you not. There were only 3 pieces that I saw, and the base tasted like someone burnt caramel.
does anyone know if anyone has a Ice cream flavour that tastes like a Zero bar, Nougat and all? That would simply be awesome.
also, yeah i'm not an ice cream reviewer like Chad. So, my credibility is almost nonexistent. I'm just the average guy who likes Ice cream but, with all respect, why would you base my opinion on Ice cream on yours? Maybe you like Strawberries, and I don't. With that being said review would be lower for me on a Strawberry base, so, don't condemn me for that opinion. I only gave you what I felt were strong recommendations on flavors. If you don't like them, fair enough. Will stop.Last edited by Karas893; 12-09-2012 at 05:00 PM.

Dude you got called out and changed your story. Also how could it possibly be whole foods fault that there weren't many mix ins? Did the store take them all out then reseal it?

To the folks that buy multiple pints at once and only eat a serving or 2 out of each one here is a great way to keep them fresh for longer. Take some plastic wrap and push it down in the pint and make sure it contacts the top of your icecream, with no spaces, and then put the lid over that. This will keep your icecream fresher longer and keep it from forming ice crystals on top. This is the way my wife keeps our icecream good. Maybe everyone knows this but I haven't seen it mentioned before. If it has I'll delete.

Prestige Raspberry Cone Crunch B I liked this stuff a lot but I could have used less raspberry swirl and more chocolate cone pieces."Nutrition for powerlifting: If you are serious about it, you will eat f*cking everything and get strong as $hit." - HamburgerTrain

Ok guys, I realize you guys don't particularly like Karas, but please go back and fact check before you make call outs.
Page 25 or so, he twice stated that Talenti SSC was his >favorite< flavor of ice cream among all the brands.
He said the base was the same, he didn't say the base was awful, he said the lack of mixins was awful and the base couldn't save it.
It obviously wasn't whole foods' fault, but the rest is just silly. Let the drama go, it's really a waste of time. Trying to read about ice cream, not bitter arguments between posters.
Oh, and by the way, I do agree that his posts of top 5/10 are annoying as it's never consistent, but in this case, we can simply ignore it until he finds consistency...or put him on ignore if it's really SO offensive.

Anyone who wants to resurrect Mission To Marzipan from B&J's...
GO HERE AND VOTE! http://www.benjerry.com/contact-us/resurrect (Choose Mission To Marzipan!)
What is Mission To Marzipan? A truly unique flavor, especially for the holidays!
Silky sweet cream ice cream with moist, soft and chewy almond cookies and a luxurious swirl of marzipan.
You can also go to the official Ben & Jerry ******** page and post your request, or find the post by me (Zachary M)
and like it, and comment on it as well! http://www.********.com/benjerry
Lastly, Mission to Marzipan has an unofficial ******** page. If you like that and comment on it, then that's even better.
Let's keep it rolling, let's see if we can truly get it back! http://www.********.com/pages/Ben-an...ref=ts&fref=ts
I won't constantly spam this, but I'll keep pushing it as much as I can without taking up too much space. But there are plenty
of PB flavors, chocolate flavors, vanilla flavors, caramel flavors, etc etc. No almond/marzipan flavors however! Let's change that!
Get in on this and vote! Reps for anyone who votes, just let me know you did and I'll get you back.
And again, thank igglesphan for these last two pictures:
And check out this in depth review of the flavor, it's really cool: http://grubgrade.com/reviews/review-...om-ben-jerrys/
"The taste of the swirl – by far the best part of the mix - is both nutty and sweet, with the latter element
hitting you after the initial burst of concentrated almond flavor. It reminds me of an authentic Biscotti in taste...
[the almond cookies] provide the richness and satisfying chew of an Italian version of Cookies and Cream...[they are]
actually incredibly reserved in almond flavor when compared to the swirl, and almost strike me more as an oatmeal cookie...
The ice cream itself has a creamy texture that’s both rich and smooth without being overly sweet...that does well to
allow the Marzipan Swirl to shine."
