Found an ice cream maker still in the packaging in the basement that my parents got as a wedding gift almost 30 years ago and fired it up and it worked! First batch was a chocolate-mocha base (used instant espresso powder) and then cut up some chunks of dark chocolate and mixed it in. Turned out way better than I expected, very creamy flavorful. If anyone has had edy's French silk, it almost replicated that exactly. Personally I loved it. Gonna be making a bunch more so want to give them all names. This one is either goin to be "First Time Chocolate Java Jitters" or "Choco-Mocha Fever"

I like to add chocolate chips and chocolate syrup on top of chocolate ice cream.

NSFW PICTURE BELOW...
Behold the greatness. I went to the local scoop shop and got the four Oatmeal Cookie Chunk's and a hand-packed pint of Candy Bar Pie. And, the 7/11 I stopped at to get ice just so happened to have Nutty Caramel Swirl, which I had been searching around for. Pure luck on that one. I'd call this a very successful trip

Wow, that BnJ Baked Alaska sounds right up my alley. Everything I love about ice-cream and sweets. White chocolate, vanilla, and something sweet to give it a kick. Damn you Canada .

I forgot to add in my post (I was overwhelmed by the ice cream) I mentioned to the lady working the scoop shop that I was sad they stopped making OCC. She said that she's heard conflicting reports. She heard it was being discontinued, but then she said she heard recently that it wasn't. She also said they just got a pretty big shipment of it in.
I'm not getting my hopes up since the official ******** announced it was being discontinued, but maybe there is a small chance that they're thinking twice about it? Who knows.

I want to thank you crazy fools for reminding me what you can eat when you decide to fit it into your macros: today was my father's bday and he's lost 45+ lbs since late last summer, so I decided to treat him with some B&J's. Went to walmart and discovered they had a rather poverty selection, but still, enough for someone whose not in the ice cream game yet.. he grabbed Karamel Sutra and I took up Phish Food. Amazing. First time I've had ice cream since Cold Stone back in October!
Anyways, last week I noticed my local Krogers stocks a lot of the 'rarer' flavors, so once I get some more testing under my belt I'll start hitting this thread up at least once a week with my noob opinions.
Btw, in absence of ice cream I had been making my own with yogurt, and the biggest factor I've found to giving yogurt the proper texture is freezing it over night, then letting it thaw before you mix in whatever you please.. gives it a real soft-serve feel.

Recipe is whatever you'd like. I personally use, and not necessarily all at one time, a combination of: PB2 or PB when fat is needed, whatever frozen fruits I have a around(blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, pineapple, bananas, peaches.. the list is endless), roasted almonds(always roast them yourself), cinnamon in nearly every batch, whey (Giant Sports Vanilla I've found works the best for a really solid base), Cocoa powder/squares. etc etc. This was my cutting ice cream so the ingredients were rather low-cal.
Of course will never match the sweetness of real ice cream, but if you're feeling froggy you could add sugar/honey, artificial sweeteners for low-cal versions. I can also recommend coconut oil. The right amount won't make it taste coconutty but will give it that sweet, creamy velvet-like feel that yogurt lacks. Really just experiment, whatever you like, toss it.

So you freeze yogurt overnight, let it thaw a bit, and then mix in the other stuff?
I have some nonfat greek yogurt (have you tried it with nonfat greek yogurt?) that I want to try this with. I also have coconut oil and dark chocolate... and frozen cranberries... and PB2.
Might try PB2 and chocolate tomorrow.
