About me:
My name is Brandon. Ive lifted/worked out recreationally for since I was about 20 years old. I do it because I like how I feel and look. I am not entering any competitions or shows, I am only competing against myself. I have a couple of hurdles in my way for the next month or so: I am in the Navy attending a school (which is my number on priority at this point) , I am about to move across the United States for the second time in 5 months, go on vacation to see my family during the holiday season, and going to work at a new command with an unknown work schedule and deployment cycle. Nothing that I cant overcome. I figured I would create a log to keep myself accountable. Theres nothing like a little pressure by telling the world youre going to achieve a goal
My goals:
I just went on a cut for 10 weeks. I am weak and tired of being a little bitch. I want my strength back. I want to maintain my current bodyfat levels as much as possible, without hindering my strength progression while achiving the following goals:
Squat: 350
deadlift 405
bench: 275
My workout:
Monday
Squat 5x5
Bench 5x5
Barbell Row 5x5
Sit ups 4x10-15
Hypers 3x10-15
Wednesday
Squat 4x5
Deadlift 4x5
military 4x5
Sit-ups 3x10-15
Friday
Squat 4x5, 1x3, 1x8
Bench 4x5, 1x3, 1x8
Barbell Row 4x5, 1x3, 1x8
Dips 3x8-10
BB curl 3x8-10
Skulls 3x8-10
Cardio: Ill do it when I feel like I am getting fat. I have really good cardio-endurence so this is not a concern for me.
I am going to start out light. Ive read that its better to start this program conservatively that way you dont stall on your lifts too soon.
Diet:
2300 calories, ~40% protons, 30% fat, 30%carbs. I eat tuna, chicken, steak, fish, oats, rice, avocados, peanut butter, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies. I will slowly increase my overall calories slowly as the weeks progress.

Whey
Jackd 3d
glutamine
And I might throw in some creatine , the only prob with that is I like to have sex without a shirt on and I hear that its super addicting like meth!

Day 1 of my 5x5:
SQUATS: 185, 205, 225, 225, 245
BENCH: 135, 155, 165, 185, 195
ROW: 135, 185, 195, 205, 205
DECLINE S/U 25X20, 45X15, 45X15, 45X15
HYPERS: I skipped these. I was not at my normal gym and they didnt have a place to do them.
Notes: I was rather conservative and I have to fight the urge not to go heavier. These numbers are super low, but I need to really stick to the basics of this program and keep in mind that this progression is LINEAR, and its LONG TERM.
I need to keep my form 100% solid and I am doing these lifts because I have bad shoulders. Other than that, nothing eventful. One thing I do hate about 5x5 is that youre only in the gym 3 days a week

Day off
Off day today. I stayed up late last night doing hood rat things and got **** for sleep. Woke up and had to drive an hour and half into school. It started snowing yesterday, cold as fuk cuuuzzzz!

HYPERS: 45LBS X 15 X 3
Notes: I weighed in this morning 2lbs lighter, not something I want! My lower back is weak. I feel the weakest part of my deadlift is where my lower back is used. I think I am going to start implementing more hyperextension to compensate for this. I quit chewing tobacco today. I think for someone that is so health conscious such as myself, its counterproductive to my goals and lifestyle. Threw the patch on last night before bed. I havent choke slammed any booters ....yet

haha Thanks. I read in your thread that you've been lifting roughly a year, is that true?
Its pretty much based on the person, but for me cutting is a HUGE head wind for strength. So much so that I am lucky to maintain my strength during a cut . So when I cut, I dont worry about my strength.

I only lost about ~8lbs of bodyweight. But I added muscle , as well. I am guessing I went from ~17/18% to 12/13%. I didnt have a means to measure my bf , and I honestly do no care about the numbers. I just gauged myself by the mirror. I noticed the biggest difference in my face and my jeans. I used to be a snug 34 now I can wear 32s with a belt.

Dear diary, I woke up this morning feeling tight, thick and solid. I am not sure if its my increased carbs&calories or what, but I feel a lot bigger and "hard" no homo. Day two of my tobacco cession was a success. I am having very vivid, crazy, adventurous dreams on the patch. The cravings after meals, coffee, and when someone says something to me thats completely potato are subsiding. I have a 3 day weekend so its going to be max food, max lifts, and max sleep for the next three days.

Day 6&7
Day 6&7 of my 5x5.
I ate like 4lbs of ground sirloin this weekend and ate like a monster. I dedicated these two days to rest. I had some beers this weekend,but whatever. I did a little cardio this morning to compensate for that. I ran 3 miles in about 21 mins. I ****ing despise running! Id rather get kicked in the nuts by a donkey than run, but its good for you so I do it from time to time.

NOTES: I decided to increase my 5x5 weight on squats a little more this week from my projected 255lbs because I feel like its not enough. Everything else went great and I felt like I am getting strong.....until I was doing my hypers. I was in the middle of my third set of hypers with a 45lb plate ,when this fat fuk fitness staff of the base gym ran up to me yelling about how I need to get off the hyper machine with weight, weights are not authorized on the hyper stand. As soon as I started to say something he said if I dont like it I can leave. I instantly raged to a 10/10, threw the plate down and walked straight out of the gym. This completely ruined my workout and I had to leave before doing/saying something foolish. No weights on a hyperextension stand, are you kidding me? I am making some calls tomorrow about this fuking bull****!
