Chest not sore after workout ?

Hey guys, so I usually work out at home, and do 3 sets of pushups, 3 sets of flys and 3 sets of bench press, and im sore the next few days and it's all dandy. Sometimes, on the weekend I just pay a drop in rate, and go to a real gym, like I did yesterday. At the gym I usually do something like this, or similar :

    3x incline bench press
    3x regular bench press
3x 'that machine where you sit down and push forwards'
3x Another chest machine I can't remember the name of
    3x declined press
    3x dips
( then did tris and shoulders)

but today my chest just isnt sore ( my tris and shoulders are though )

This isnt the first time this has happened, Just recently ( last 3 weeks or so ), It's happened 3/4 past chest workouts, and up until like 2 and a half weeks ago I had never had this problem. 2 times it has been at a gym, once at home doing a regular workout . all 3 times, I've felt like I'd had a really good workout right afterwards, then my chest just insnt sore the next day. I know good workout =/= soreness and stuff, but since im doing more wieght, more sets and all new movements at the gym as apposed to when I'm at home, it doesnt make sense that today it would not hurt. Any ideas ?

It makes sense that you don't get sore because your body gets used to weight training.

    soreness =/= muscle growth

Yes but it's only sometimes it happens. And of all times wouldn't you expect it to be sore after doing different exercises ?

Looks like you over trained OR it could be that during the workout your arms burned out and you started to use your arms 100% when you push so you can't feel it in your chest. Either way, soreness doesn't indicate muscle growth.

my chest is always sore after my workout. i alternate between hypertrophy and strength week to week. i just hit it really hard doing 4 sets of 6 to 10 reps on hypertrophy chest day and doing 5 sets of 3 to 5 reps on strength day. i always make sure to beat my last work out witch is pretty important too. forever DOMS <3

^ I would have said the same thing 3 weeks ago.

anyways, I'm not too worried or anything, it just seems illogical that on days that I do movements I dont do normally, that I'm not sore, and on days when I do my usual routine, I am ?

What iv learned is that mind muscle connection is going to make your workouts 10x better.
Focus on what your doing...For example if im benching feel your muscle pushing the weight, or if im doing cable flys i flex my pecs, etc.
Don't just do the exercise to do it. it should have a purpose.
    Current stats: 255lb Squat - 300lb Deadlift - 140Lb Bench - 165lb Power Clean

Its not that I don't get sore, or I'm not working out hard enough, it's ONLY chest, and ONLY sometimes. I just can't figure out why

Id you arent performing your routine correctly your delts and triceps could back taking a lot of the work load off your chest. If you feel as though your form is bad maybe lower your weight and focus on your contraction. Form is more important that weight.

I could feel my chest being used during the exercises, and based on what I could feel, it felt as though my chest was the limiting muscle. It was also very sore / swollen immediately after.

Also my chest isn't just less sore than normal, or anything, there is literally no soreness in my chest ( with the exception of right under my collarbone area, which is super sore ).

    .

Well that just means that your buddy has sculpted up enough muscle to do what ever weight your lifting. And it won't get sore unless you either bump up your weight or your doing your reps in the 16s. Another reason if this doesn't apply to you is that you can possibly be taking to much of a break in before you start another set. Increasing the intensity of your workout by having little break time can be wants not giving you the soreness you want after every workout. I usually have my break time at 30 seconds.
Every workout should be your best workout.
