My question is why would you remain huge into old age and retirement? Why is this shocking that people have other interests in life that occupy themselves beyond always being ON? There are repercussions to always being using, its expensive as hell, and can mess with libido like crazy. Look at Dillett with his wife and tell me why he should have stayed freaky. Accept change in your life.
I think there might be an addiction trait going on if they continue to use.
Why else would you wanna keep spending that money and killing your body after you stop competing?
What for?
Or maybe it's that body dysmorphic disorder where you never think your good enough?
Dunno...
He still looks better than 99% of 45 year olds.(Don't know if that's his age just read someone say it.) If you take into account what most men even those who gym on a regular basis look like at his age he actually looks pretty good considering. It's like the GH perma-grew his head though.

When im not hungry I eat. When Im tired I train. When I feel like giving up I push harder.
So wonder why Ronnie is still riding the bike pretty hard...been out of the game for going on 5 years now...still huge (not as big as he was but still clearly not clean).
You see all the other guys from his era just taking it easy and being/looking a lot smaller but healthy, ie, Flex, Shawn Ray, Dorian, Levrone, Cormier, Dillet, et. et.
Chris looks like Felix Leiter now. Long as he's healthy then ****s all good.
''There’s this battle over waterboarding at places like Guantanamo Bay. I think that they should just say, “Hey, if you guys don’t talk, you have to see Hercules In New York.” I guarantee those guys would talk much faster. You don’t need to do waterboarding or anything else. That’s the ultimate threat.''

.
He did have by far the most miraculous physique of all time I'd probably cling to that too if I was him but it's probably to do with him still enjoying training and he does have a supplement company he is promoting so still being big doesn't hurt.

This was after his pro career wasnt it?
He probably just had to drasticly cut down working out to concentrate on business/work/life.
Its hardly surprising when people have the work ethic to workout out hard, eat well consistently and when those ppl take gear they blow up, take all that out there lives they shrink down to the way the were before.
Theres no doubt about it , it must be very very hard for a pro body builder to find balance and not just suddenly drop off, I think yates ,levrone and palamobo have done the best at this they probably still take HRT with is non pharmacological effects but matain a very good physique.

Ronnie was supposedly about 240 off season before he ever started gear, which is completely believable, I'm 230 and natural. So why couldn't someone with mr O level of muscle memory who still works out and great genetics without gear stay pretty big? I'm not saying he's clean but the guy keeps pumping out kids, so he's not exactly washed up or shut down either.
Chris probably quit training completely, taking a break for a while. Maybe he has nagging injuries he's letting heal. For most of us bodybuilding is a hobby, but do your JOB for 20+ years and tell me how much you want to go to work? IFBB pros its their job, so who wants to work when your retired? He looks lean and decent. Carrying around all that weight is no fun either. Maybe he likes being able to run up a flight of stairs without heart failure.

Obviously he's done competing but this pic shocked me.
If it was April the first I would have accused you of Photoshoping this, its quite incredable how Corimer responded to training, I remember many talking about how he had the best genetics, from this picture he still looks athletic but does not look like he is naturally very wide or stocky.

You're right, Cormier and other guys could learn a thing or two from you, since, judging by your avi, you look very good at your respectable age of almost 100 years.

Looks like that is what competitive sports does to many athletes: It's not so much about celltech and chit, but more that it looks like they entirely stopped doing everything that is related to it (e.g. lifting and eating healthy). Seems like they're sick of the whole lifestyle thing that comes with being an athlete. It's still sad and shocking to see how quickly they're regressing and how little is left of all the glory.
But then again, same goes for most other sports, just that nobody is judging an ex O-liner for being a fat and unathletic looking guy.

edit: this is after he got in shape. he gained some weight after competing. most ex competitors do this. they stop competing, gain some weight, then realize what they have become and how they look and they probably miss the gym too so they get in shape. at least that's what i'm assuming.

Lol You know guys there is life after body building. You can't look like that akk your life. Its hell on ur heart to hold a body like that esp when your up around chris's age. Maybe he is just doing what he thinks is healthy for him at his stage in life.
